of "Either you're with us or you're against us (dead)." The media are complicit, but with the exception of Faux, they're not dupes — they're afraid. C'mon, there's only so many multi-gazillion-dollar advertising accounts to go around, y'know? Plus, these days every time a teevee conglomerate proposes to allow the word "pants" on the air, here comes a 527 making life miserable for them.

Mind you, I'm not about to forgive the media for helping half of Merica to be so mind-bogglingly ignorant. I'm saying that just because they don't jump all over stories like this doesn't mean they're in bed with W. For the most part, it's just that they're run by raving paranoiacs who have one eye on their board room, one on their latest stock quote and the third on the Nielsens, and their reams and reams of market research tell them that Mericans don't like "conspiracy theories," even if there's substance to them.

Just sit tight. It took Woodstein a couple of years to nail Watergate, remember? And it was another "conspiracy theory."
