People need to stop bashing Kerry
He can't be the spotlight in this. The reason why is because they would frame him as sore loser. The issue is electronic voting. By Kerry being out of the spotlight the issue isn't trying to over throw Bush. We are trying to fix democracy not over throw the election.

3. The guy from Congressional weekly on Olberman this evening
said that Kerry lawyers getting involved in the Ohio voting inquiries after saying that every vote will be counted and then conceding is the same old Kerry, a flip flopper.

Kerry can't win for losin'. He would be better off is would just come out fighting, the voters that feel cheated would feel better too

6. The guy that was on Olberman this evening was.........
........Craig Crawford. Whoop Whoop Whoopee everyone knows how credible he is.(as credible as bushie himself). Do you have proof that Kerry has been doing nothing about the election fraud? I mean real proof not some bullcrap writing or something you here out of a nut like Crawford but real proof? I seriously doubt you have no more proof he isn't doing anything about all the voter fraud, voter intimidation and making sure all the votes are counted than I have the proof he is. The difference is you and so many others on these boards are so quick to judge and some have even resorted to name calling when you in fact don't know what is going on. It was only a couple weeks ago everybody was supporting Kerry and voting for him but low and behold when things don't go to suit alot of people you start hearing he's a quitter, he bailed out, he just roled over, and blah blah blah.

First thing I want to point out is just because he conceded doesn't mean he is doing nothing. He has until Jan 6 to unconcede if there is enough evidence to overturn the election. Enough evidence meaning that they get enough votes in any state to get the electoral votes for that state giving him enough to win the election. I will be the first to admit I feel like this election was stolen and there was wide spread voter fraud. But first they have to prove the fraud and while recounts may recover some of the votes all the votes lost in this will never be recovered. Second thing I want to point out is that both Kerry and Edwards were attorneys themselves and have many freinds that are attorneys. For that matter some of the attorneys volunteering there services at BBV may very well be there freinds and may be doing it for them. I have no proof of that but this is like everything else the people that are so quick to judge they haven't got proof that it's not true.

Why wouldn't Kerry come out swinging some are asking? Well why should he when he can get more done by not letting the media and the repugs know what he is doing. Because if you people have forgotten I want to remind you that in 2000 when Gore was out in the spotlight between the media and the repugs they put so much spin on anything the man said or done and they made him and democrats out to be nothing but sore losers. By the time they got done with Gore he was so devastated that nobody seen or heard nothing from Gore for the longest. Yes the election was stolen in 2000 and Al Gore fought but the way it was approached and done in the end the man was devastated and democrats gained nothing. Now here we are in 2004 another election is being stolen is Kerry fighting the answer is YES! Kerry is approaching things different this time not only to try to get different results, or the media making him out to be the villian but at the same time trying to spare the democratic party from being made another three ring circus by the repugs and media again in 2004. So does this make him a quitter NO! Also there is another factor that plays into this election that didn't in 2000. We are at war. And if Kerry had not approached things as he has so far the repugs and the media would really be having a feild day saying that Kerry and the democrats were sore losers and at a time when our troops are fighting for us we are all putting them in more danger by holding up the election. Well Kerry is smarter than what people think and he knows what he is doing.

Kerry done what he felt he had to do at the time. But he has not given up and quit. The ones that are quitting are the ones who supported him and because they don't have their ace in the hole yet they in turn have turned their backs on him and some even making nasty remarks. The way I look at it if he was good enough for people to support all this time and vote for him then he should still be good enough to support even when the chips are down. If you trusted him then you should trust him now. If you can't trust the man now then you shouldn't have voted for him in the first place.

I truly feel that even if the election isn't overturned Kerry and Edwards will continue the fight and you will see people prosecuted over all the voter fraud ect. And when the Senate returns Kerry will continue his fight to help the American people while at the same time he will be a thorn in Bush's and the repugs side so bad they will wish they never heard the name Kerry! I also truly beleive edwards will continue to help Kerry and they will get enough evidence against Bush and the repugs that it will bring them to their knee's. Again these people will wish they never heard the name Kerry when he gets finished.

4. Bashing Kerry is far healthier
Than questioning everything everybody else did. Kerry got sensational help from the party and the grass roots. Kerry's people were almost 100% behind him.

John Kerry is the most gutless politician there is. People could see that. John Kerry said, "I'm going to continue talking about values in this campaign, but, I'm going to talk about them less often than George Bush does." Kerry's only conviction seemed to be to avoid conflict.

Kerry barely fought back against Bush's attacks. I thought Kerry needed a boot from down below to get back on track. Most of the left regarded any suggestion that things needed to change as an outrage. Warnings of loss were laughed at as predictions that "the sky is falling in." Flame wars erupted against those who posted their doubts. Denial was strong.

Fortunately, many people saw that Kerry was blowing it. Pressure from the party turned things around when Kerry was plummeting into the low forties. The pressure that brought Kerry back wasn't sustained, though. The base remained in denial. Kerry went back to covering up and clinging to the ropes every chance he got.

During the election, everybody was excited that we were all on the same page for once. We all wanted to stop Bush. Harmony became more important than winning, and everything was done to protect temporary harmony. Losing broke harmony.

Now, every fringe cause believes that the party is in ruins and the solution is to remold the party in their own fringe image. Differing opinions are likely to hopelessly split the party apart. Fights have started and blame has been passed around between allies. I think everybody agrees that leaders are needed who will fight more. There isn't enough agreement on what to fight for.

So, it all returns to denial. Now they say the election was fixed. There is tremendous raw power in the net. This encounter between the public and the net lefties is going to leave the public with the impression that net lefties are all kooks. There is no proof for the election being fixed.

I say that rather than descend into fighting and denial, if would be far healthier to blame John Kerry. Sure, the party needs to be improved. Sure, we need to audit this election to make sure elections in the future are honest.

Look at all the good things that are there now that weren't before. The left was able to raise more money than they ever dreamed was possible. The net is a new communications system that connects the grass roots together. It is easy to be better informed. There are 527s now that can even run ads when the press doesn't pick up stories.
A great future is in store once an emotional outlet is found. Blaming Kerry solves everything. Denial and blaming each other won't help.

8. Skip blaming Kerry
Kerry lost, so look to what he did wrong and take it to heart. Having Kerry for dinner is pointless. He has spent his life in public service and deserves the respect of his countrymen. Every presidential election has a loser in the electoral college, that's the nature of elections. Jefferson came within a gnat's eyebrow of losing to Burr in 1800. If he had would we be sitting here denigrating him ?

9. A silly rationalization
If you were truly concerned with what was most "healthy", you'd be concentrating on bashing the TheoCons or the GOP, not dems.

5. Right! let's just bash Gore for conceding then.... non?
Edited on Fri Nov-12-04 11:59 PM by robbedvoter
here's why I am angry:
- he allows the "we lost" meme take root - leading to "back to dixicracy"
- he discourages voters to do it again
- he empowers the GOP to do it again and again
- shady characters praying on distraught voters

and adding insult to injusy: "God is testing him"
yeah, John. I have seen the light. It was all a giant test FOR YOU

7. Nobody is bashing Gore for anything!
I don't see anyone bashing Gore and they shouldn't. Gore could not help what happen no more than Kerry can. The point being made was both men got screwed, both men are fighters, but after what the media and the repugs did to Gore there were lessons learned and this time Kerry approached things differently in order to keep from having the same thing happen again! This does not make him a quitter as many have said!

You say that Kerry allows the "we lost" meme to take root, well that is pure BS! Kerry hasn't allowed anything to happen. For that matter it is BS like all the nasty remarks and name calling of the same man that alot of people supported two weeks ago and now because everything isn't going to suit them they go after him allows more of the "we lost" meme take root! If the man was good enough then and people trusted him enough to vote for him then he should be good enough and people should trust him when the chips are down! Afterall when you vote for a president it is suppose to be for the one that stands for what you beleive in and you have full trust that, that person will do what is in the best interest of the country. In good times and in bad. If you trusted him and voted for him you should be able to trust him now and trust that the decissions being made now are for the right reasons.

Next you say he discourages voters to do it again. Well again this is pure BS. The big thing discouraging about this is how easy it is for people to be on cloud nine and supporting a canidate when all is going well and the minute things don't go to suit them the same ones are calling the canidate names and making nasty remarks. This is the BS that discourages voters.

Then you go on to say he empowers the GOP to do it again and again. Well this is the biggest BS line yet! The same that happen to Gore is happening to Kerry only the circumstances behind how the repugs did it is a little different. You were quick to jump right off making as if someone was bashing Gore when they in fact wasn't. But now the question is returned to you? Are you going to say what Gore did and how he approached things empowered the GOP to do it again in 2004? I personally don't feel that either man has empowered the GOP and they never would! Do you have any real proof that Kerry and Edwards are not having something done about what going on now? Can you see into the future and know for a fact that Kerry and Edwards will not work to make sure this is not able to happen again? It is BS remarks such as this about empowering the GOP that discourages voters!

Next you make the remark shady characters praying on distraught voters. The only thing shady about all of this is the smokescreen that people put up when things don't go to suit them or someone goes about handling things different from what others want them to and in return out comes all the name calling and nasty remarks! I also find that by resorting to calling the canidate names and making nasty remarks about the canidate that so many have supported all this time just because everything isn't going to suit them and they want everything done different is "praying on distraught voters".

Last you say "God is testing him". Well I have to tell you God is testing all of us including those like you that are so quick to pass judgment on others! So I ask have you truly seen the light? I don't beleive you have because if you had you would know that you were not put on this earth to judge others! In reality this is a giant test FOR YOU.

12. Alot of people worked their ........
.....a** for this campaign and proudly so and would do it again. The people I know are proud of all the efforts of everyone involved including Kerry.

Yes Kerry conceded sorry it was to soon to suit you. But there are others that realize that he can unconcede at anytime between now and Jan 6. If for any reason there is enough evidence proving that there is enough votes to overturn the electorial college in a state that in turn will overturn the election he will unconcede!

I still trust Kerry as do many others that supported him. If we felt we couldn't trust him now we would have never voted for him in the first place. We trust that Kerry will make the right decisions and do what is in the best interest of his supporters and this country. This man loves this country just as much as any other American and has served this country very well for many years and will continue to do so.

14. Conspiracy theories aside, Kerry quit too soon!
If there was any question about ONE single vote he owed those of us who gave all we had to him , to fight for us.....I think he is just a politician and is now concentrating on his Senate career. I believe the Fat Lady has sung and we are screwed unless we do something drastic! The over 50 million people that voted for Kerry need to get collectively pissed enough to take to the streets. That is all that will change anything at this point.
