Keith Olbermann.....Vacation???
Anyone else notice at the end of Keith's show, he mentioned going on vacation? If so.......who is going to cover the voting irregularities? Was he serious?

5. Exactly! Was he forced?
Stinking corporate media probably is caving in to pull him out of there.

6. I wondered about that, too. Anyone here get his newsletter?
Did he say anything there about plans for a vacation -- and if so, was it mentioned earlier than the last few days?

12. They way he did it, I don't think he was forced
They switched chairs onscreen, mentioned Keith's vacation, then he literally bolted off the set to his vacation full speed. I got the strange impression that, in addition to being funny, it was a way to communicate that he meant to go on vacation.

If another host had just shown up on Monday, a lot of people would think he'd been forced off. They way they did it, we know that Olbermann knew that he'd be off next week, and gave the impression he was looking forward to it.

(I'm probably reading way too much into all this)

3. I took it that it was his way of announcing he'd be gone; maybe the
reporter who gave him the quiz will sit in next week.

15. It's been a while since he last had a vacation

at least several months (other than a couple of assorted single days off here and there). I honestly don't think that there is any conspiracy here or anything. I think it's just time for him to take a week off. I hate that he's going now though. I think that you're seeing a lot of media folks taking vacations because they finally can. They had a busy summer and fall-the conventions, the Olympics, then the Presidential Campaign, and then finally, the election. Rest up Keith, we'll be counting on you to keep up the good work on your return!

And on edit--usually Alex Witt or Allison Stewart sub for Keith when he's out. Although once they had Mike Barniacle fill-in. Yes, that was a WTF moment for me!
