The Dems are just a weak, pathetic party. We ask for little and will
accept nothing. We concentrate on little things like environmental responsibility and protection, workers rights, the well being of the poor, the viabilities of our land and country, the equivalent sharing of our nations wealth and the environment that promotes personal wealth and a few other rather insignificant things.

I've heard of other parties that claim and promise to deliver on all of these. I've never found another that even comes close.

1. You might be describing the 'old' Democratic party...
...the 'new' party has something quite different in mind.

2. Amen Psychoblues
You're absolutely right. Even the most conservative Dems (I'm thinking Lieberman, Miller et al.) are good on at least a few of the things you mentioned. Democrats passed CFR, hundreds of Democrats voted against the war, they fought against Enron (both price hikes in the West and after they collapsed). They are the party whose membership has fought in Congress against drilling ANWAR. And that's just when the R's were in charge.

4. The Democratic Party is what we make it. PERIOD
If we begin to realize that unity is our strongest and most important factor,

if well work together, create a unified big picture, support and stand by one another, work with all Americans but stand our ground when necessary (like now), have to courage to say no to those that are hurting the nation and the world, and commit to making this country the best country it can be, then we will REALLY evolve to being the greatest party, and thus the greatest nation.

6. dems lost the smell of sweat with decline of labor unions' & civil rights
the rip snorting activism and bare knuckled approach that the unions and the civil rights movement brought to the party has been replaced by blow dried fops who have little actual personal investment in the policies of the party. its just a cash cow to the consultants and lobbyists of k street who would sell out their own mother for a buck.

back to the local organization of the party street by street, neighborhood by neighborhood.
