CORRECTION: Rove caught smiling at Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
Edited on Thu Nov-11-04 11:05 AM by The Backlash Cometh
BIG CORRECTION -- Not at Arafat's funeral. At the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Rove was smiling as he took his place with Powell and Wolfowitz? On CNN. Probably didn't know the cameras were on him. Couldn't erase that shit eating grin.

Mistakenly thought it was Arafat's funeral because CNN was talking about it as they carried the casket.

11. you sure it was Arafat's thing?
there is a wreath-laying ceremony in Arlington Nat Cer. right now.

Arafat's coffin was being taken by french soldiers to the Egypt-bound plane.
The French uniforms look a little like our guy's.

They were talking about Arafat's funeral as they were bringing in the casket. I'll correct the header. Thanks!

10. LOL! I don't know why that just struck me as so funny!
Must be the stress of the bush nazi getting back in office...but the original poster's confusing a veteran's day ceremony, with Arafat's funeral, just made me spit my beverage all over the place!

(Shame on me I guess I am getting punchy)

14. Arafat's state funeral is Friday, i think.
Edited on Thu Nov-11-04 11:07 AM by eek

It would be easy to get mixed up: there are dress-blue ceremonial soldier things on all the channels, simultaneously.

What's more, with Blair over in the US hanging with his boss, it does make for a mixed up image-stew.

edited for really crappy typos)(

23. Only hope is...
the Palestinian people will wake up and renounce terrorism. If their new leader is worse than Arafat then they will reap what they sow.

15. This may sound like a silly newbie question...
But is there a website devoted to tracking Rove's misdeeds? Some kind of evidence compiler or forum or anything devoted to Rove at all? Seems like our Kingpin of Evil deserves one just as much as * does.

20. Same thing happened to Clinton - it means nothing
Clinton was as a funeral and the cameras caught him when he was joking to somone, then he got all serious :)

That can happen to anyone. Rove is an ass, but we all have been in places where we've gotten caught having inappropriate reactions and bad times. It isn't particularly indicative of anything.

25. Considering he's repeatedly smeared veterans...
...Colin Powell should have kicked him in the shins, hard, instead of greeting him.

"Don't talk to him, Powell," muttered my editor as he saw the footage of Powell talking to Rove before the ceremony.

By the way, does anyone have a count on just how many veterans Rove has smeared? I'd count Daschle, Gore, Kerry, Cleland, and McCain, but I'm not sure if that's complete.
