Folks, give up trying to get justice from a right wing government.

Take to the streets like we did for the civil rights movement, the women's movement and the anti war movement.

We will get no help from a media that is controlled by the right. The only way anyone will pay attention to us is if we make noise.

I am hoping that enough people agree with me so that something can be started across this land. I want to march for justice. I may get enough balls to march by myself down main street.

1. I am reminded of the RENO 911 episode where the guy had his own
parade with his little red wagon all decked out in red, white and blue and had his kazoo. I am not trying to make fun of your idea but when you said you would march down main street by yourself, that episode came to mind!

I love that show.

3. If 5 million people march down the street but it's not on the news...
did it really happen?

Actually I'm not arguing with you. Protests are the only power we have left.

Still, I'm feeling pretty cynical these days.

4. Yeah
Becoming the media, is the answer. We have the tools to do so right at our fingertips. The computer. It can spread any message far and wide, and the message can be gleaned from DU. The very idea of the internet strikes fear in the heart of the whore media.

Marching in the streets works, too. We can do both.

Kerry On!

6. Carry On!

I was shocked that tanks were sent to Westwood California to oversee an anti war protest yesterday. Yes, two tanks.

Get ready for it.

I'm with you all the way.

7. I've thought it would be cool to have a march across Highway 50
From Sacramento to Washington, DC. With people from all over the country getting in on it.

8. No one will ever know...
I went to a peace march a few months back here in Carlisle, PA held outside the Army War College while Bush was giving a speech inside. This was back before the national convention even, it's been a whil.

We are a small community, so I was utterly thrilled to see that hundreds of folks showed up. That really gave me hope both for my local area and hope for the nation. Cause we are a rural, conservative community and we stood up! There were also around 10 Bush supporters staging an anti-protestors-protest; but overall, there was tremendous support for stopping the war in Iraq. People driving by stopped their cars and got out and joined the protest. It was galvanizing.

All the local media, in reporting on Bush's visit, reported that there were protestors. But even though I saw over 200 folks with my own eyes, the local newspapers and tv stations reported that there were a dozen or so protestors. The implication was that it was a handful of radical pacifists, the folks who always oppose war no matter what. While a local group of that sort were the folks who had organized the protest, hundreds of ordinary citizens showed up to oppose the war. But we were not heard by anyone who did not happen to drive down that road that evening.

Protests don't add up to much if no one knows about them.

9. They've seen marches...
They know that's what we do. We hold huge raucous events that are 'comparable' to gay pride parades. We've tried that before and it didn't work.

What we need to do now is think in powers of one. What can I, as an individual, do. I can make a statement as a member of a group, yes. But groups are easy targets.

This is a time for creativity and ingenuity. Strategically place graphics and flyers on public transportation. Blanket the urban populations with information. Send at least one letter to an individual in a 'position of power' a day. Continue to support those venues which give a voice to our cause, and boycott those which do not.

...and maybe attend a protest rally. Sure, why not. But watch out for those tanks.

11. We Don't Get Justice from a Right-Wing Government
we get justice through the American system. It's a mixture of executive, legislative, judicial, media, and public opinion. And it doesn't always work. But voter fraud has started to percolate as an issue now. The task over the next several weeks to keep it going, publicize it, fund it, and make sure it doesn't die.

12. making noise
make noise.. Nov. 3rd we (about 30 ppl) marched around the streets downtown chanting "Bush Is A Murderer A Liar And A Cheat",
"Bush Is A War Criminal" and "No More War" as we banged pots and pans.

Pots and pans are often used at demonstrations in Central America to get attention. It works too. :-)

I believe we MUST organize another huge demo just to let them know we have not been silenced.

13. Yesterday I went to a Count Every Vote rally

in San Diego for City Councilwoman Donna Frye, who won the mayoral race as a write-in, only to have pukes file a lawsuit to try to stop the vote count.

What was strange was that with hundreds of people protesting loudly, and TV cameras everywhere, there were very few cops. Contrast this with activist protests, which are always completely surrounded by cops. We need to ensure that all our public protests are so obviously mainstream that they don't dare shoot us on TV. And by now you've probably realized how easy it is. My local Save Democracy (anti-election fraud) group is so bourgeois I wouldn't have believed it. This is the new Argentina folks. Women with designer suits, make-up, and heels, men with designer suits and power ties, and a sprinkle of raggedy hippies thrown in, is a totally different type of protest. The robo-cops go into shock when they are ordered to march on people dressed like their overlords.

Don't march by yourself. Start contacting local groups. And keep emailing the facts to the media. They are starting to realize that more than 50% of the population doesn't depend on them for news, and, in fact, seems to know more than they do.
