We had to live with the spinelessness of Tom Daschle being "forced" to kiss republican ass and NOT speak out for us...Yet they went after him anyway (South Dakota)...slimy cuzz that the republicans are.

We can't afford to have another democrat as minority leader from a red state, No fucking way.

Barbara Boxer from CA would NOT have the same concerns about her job being in jeopardy.

Yeah, they will try to come after Boxer, years from now, but she WILL prevail...(If she even chooses to run again).

We really can't allow a Senator from a red state to be our Senate minority leader because they will be targeted and they better play ball with Rove's agenda...If the dems allow a senator, whom ever to be nominated from a red state...there should be a huge outcry, because the obvious Daschle spinelessness we saw so clearly, will again become our nightmare.

He is fairly old, having run for senate as early as 1974.

It's obviously very early to look toward 2010. I supposed current Nevada governor Kenny Guinn could challenge Reid then. Maybe congressman Jim Gibbons, if he either loses the 2006 governors race or decides not to run for re-election as governor in 2010.

Daschle had to lead the last two years knowing Thune was out there and likely to run again. Reid has no similar short term threat or concerns.

We need a workhorse who has proven to be effective in the chamber in there right now to block the worst of the worst, not a showhorse. The showhorses will get their TV face time and do a fine job of articulating our opposition to the Republican aganda on TV regardless of who is Majority Leader.

He is vastly experienced, isn't afraid of Rove, and isn't worried about re-election. He was also a voice crying in the wilderness against the Iraq war right from the start.
