cheerup: a little note from a Catholic priest

Dear Parishioners,

In St. Paul’s Letter to the Thessalonians, we hear him say to believers: “The Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.”

There are times when we are trying very hard to do what is right and to live a good life, but we are tempted to give up, to stop trying, to not work so hard at being faithful to the Lord. It is at times like these that we need to be reinforced by Paul’s prayer for us. We need to hear that God is on our side.

It is important for all of us to know that we are in this life together and need the support not only of St. Paul’s words but also of each other to keep going, to be faithful, to try harder at following the Lord Jesus.

This week as we come to the end of the Church Year, can we pray with and for each other that we remain faithful to what the Lord teaches us?
