Donna Brazile for DNC Chairman...I say NOT
Edited on Tue Nov-09-04 10:56 AM by BeyondGeography
Brazile's making a strong bid, according to Chuck Todd this morning on C-Span. If this happens, I might start thinking Green Party, personally.

Why? Brazile is personally likeable but absolutely unpersuasive as a speaker. Worse, for all the pretense of strong Louisiana roots, Beltway Brazile is a D.C. creature, a personal friend of Karl Rove's, for crying out loud, who comes off as too friendly with the opposition. This is a minor complaint with me compared to her inability to defend and advance our arguments. I've seen enough of her mealy-mouthed performances on CNN to last a lifetime. I don't see her mobilizing the grass-roots of the party either.

Wrong choice. Hope it's just a rumor.

BTW, Dean is my choice.

6. No way.... Her association with Karl Rove has never been
helpful to US, that's for sure--she's out of her league is she thinks she could outwit him and garner any benefit to us from her association. I think she was a liability to Al Gore and now wants to be a liability to us in 06/08? Sorry.

but, if we don't get this bbv mess fixed, little will it do but waste our time and break our hearts again and again and again. That is, of course, if they don't wall us all up in some quadrant of the Country.

9. Hopeless
It'll either be Brazille or Ickes. I don't know which is worse. They won't see a penny from me. I'll be giving to DFA not the DNC.

15. According to various
articles I've read and having seen him yesterday on C-Span, he's interested in it. He's a powerful guy within those circles and strongly supported by the Clintons. He's head of some important Hillary committee. And yes, I think the Clintons have a great deal of power in matters like this.

DNC Chair, instead of McAuliff and might have made some headway with the deep south. But, Brazile will not mobilize the south, the base, nor anyone else, IMO. She will be eaten alive by the RW nastily aggressive white men. She has a role to play, but is not sharp enough, IMO to take on this position.

14. Supposedly....
Brazile is a brilliant organizer. I read somewhere (don't remember where, sorry) that the choice for DCN chair comes down to this - a great operator/organizer or a great message person. Apparently Brazile is in the first category.

Maybe the DNC needs to find a second leader to handle the message/vision thing.

I agree that Brazile is sort of a loser and we need fresh faces and voices in leadership positions.

which is a shame. We need Dean's passion and energy. But he is too much of a maverick for the party to accept.

18. I am opposed to her also.
I prefer Dean.

I just don't think she's a strong spokesperson for our side. I've seen her hold her own on occasion, but she usually delivers a lackluster performance against bay buchannan on CNN. She speaks in monotone and we need someone who shows some emotion.

25. No, no, NO!!!
A thousand times NO!

That would be a HUGE mistake. Donna Brazile is not the answer.

If the DNC selects her, that's a sign that there will be no real changes in the M.O. of our party which, since 2000, has been to put our hands up in the air and say, "Please don't hit me too hard" and then still gotten the shit kicked out of us.

No. Uh-uh. Negative. When donkeys fly.

26. Its TIME for a NEW PROGRESSIVE PARTY GUYS..
People like Brazile, Ickes and all those DLC types are not going to further our cause, but simply mire us deeper and deeper in election loss after loss. Ickes is involved deeply with the Clintons and probably will be behind Hillary 08.

Wake up people - The Democratic Party is worthless. Listening on Olberman last night to John Conyers, it was so pathetic...he was insisting that we don't want to overturn the election, after all "John Kerry conceded"..... we only want to see what we can do to fix future elections..

AFter three losing elections have we learned nothing? Time to mobilize - cast these right wing sympathizers aside, they have done us so much damage we may never recover.
