11. That sounds accurate...
but I'm feeling like Kerry either caved to advisers telling him to emphasize his war history and that he supported the Iraq war but we needed to fight harder. (or that's who he really is?) He didn't defend his position (or what we thought was his position) strongly enough.
Or maybe he did. Blockboxvoting.org is getting strong data that shows voter fraud.

Also the supposed "total votes" doesn't include the ballots they don't even count because of "chads" that the machine can't read. (the numbers could make up the difference.)

I am very sad about this.

I am sad for the people.
I am sad for the environment, our health, (not to mention "health-care"), our human existence.

I don't believe Bush really won. But I do believe he was able to deceive his supporters with his Orwellian labeling of all of his actions. He says one thing and does the opposite, if that's not flip flopping I don't know what is. Why wasn't he called on this?

And values, what about honesty and a moral value?
And I am a religious person, who practices the teachings of Jesus. I attend church. I pray and meditate and practice my faith. I have strong moral values. Bush's win was not about "values vs. no-values."
At least, I hope it wasn't.
I pray that we can save our humanity, our spirituality, and our nation.

It is perceived that the Democratic Party (I have been a life long Dem, except for 10 years belonging to the Natural Law Party...but voting for Gore in the final election. I voted for Clinton the first time, John Hagelin the second...because I wanted those Ideas spoken about, and Gore in 2000.) I am again a registered Democrat, as the NLP decided not to enter this race.

Right now, Rumsfield is making a Pentagon announcement about reorganizing the military.
I wonder what that really means?

God bless us all.

17. I agree with you.
It’s far too easy to criticize on hindsight, though it is useful for improvement.
IMO, it was a fairly well run campaign.
There should have been far more and serious attacks on the TRUE actions of Bushco. It couldn’t have come from the primary campaign. A few good Congress people should have gone on the warpath, especially about how * never held a real job in his life, that the ranch was purchased as a prop, etc.

The media is horrible and has become as lazy as a typical voter.
Kerry had damn good people stumping for him. They were never given coverage. Al Gore had a devastating speech against Bushco- it wasn’t covered. There was a suppressed 9-11 CIA report that named names- it wasn’t covered. Bremer was selected to set up lucrative contracts- it wasn’t covered.
PBS had 2 frontline shows on- “The Choice” and “Rumsfeld’s Wars” Both were excellent. They weren’t discussed or cited.

Everyone knows that the right is more effective at themed mantras.
The Dems must address this, because nothing will force people to actually think or delve into issues. These people must be strategists, who can see a whole picture and coordinate accordingly. The leadership in the DNC is ineffective in this.

I am no conspiracy theorist, but there are only 2 states where the exit polling differed so strongly from the final result. Each of those states had a highly partisan elections supervisor. Hmm.
The notion of auditless voting is a farce. There are far too many incidents on record to dismiss it.

All that being said, I think a lot of this anger comes out the grief we all feel – and is deeply exacerbated by the sense of abandonment we all feel by the guys at the top.

4. I wouldn't say the campaign was BADLY run...
I mean, Gore's was miserable in comparison. There were just a couple of items that RoveCo was able to latch onto that we never did an adequate job of dismissing (and we easily could have). Overall, the campaign was very strong. Kerry drew record crowds in nearly every state!

5. Problem With This Poll: Too Many Democrats With Primary Axes To Grind
Dean would have creamed them...
Clark would have nailed them...

And too many DU'ers think they know how to run a WINNING campaign.

14. that may be true
but, once on board, I supported Kerry. I read his position papers and agreed with most. I don't think health-care should be tied to employment, I'm more in favor of the universal model. But I believed he was intelligent and flexible enough for more debate on that issue later. I trusted him.

He should have had Arianna Huffington lead his campaign.

19. It's spelled "lose".
Edited on Mon Nov-08-04 04:50 PM by bemildred
It means what occurred was what was intended.

He ran and got everybodies hopes up, and then he lost in a
rigged election and shut down any investigation, or at least
he is trying to. The purpose it to shutdown the grass-roots
anti-war movement and "Manufacture Consent". If he gets on
TV tonight and raises hell, I will gladly eat my words.

7. Vote Fraud+Vote Suppression+Bush LIES
And I still want to know the actual date of that OBL tape - I think Rove held it back from 9/11/04 until election week. I'd like to bust him on that.

10. I don't think it was a really bad campaign
but JK should have been allowed to come out more vigorously against the SBVT lies.

It seems he could have connected those lies with the lies about John McCain in the 2000 election, and the other evil campaigns run by KKKarl Rove.

Although . . . I'm not sure, considering the cable news bias, he would have gotten any coverage.
