Kerry: "I Can't Believe I'm Losing To This Idiot."
Newsweek's special post election report gets inside the Kerry camp
When President Bush’s poll numbers surged in April after a press conference where his performance was derided by the press and the chattering classes, Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry was baffled, writes Newsweek Assistant Managing Editor Evan Thomas in an exclusive report in Newsweek’s special election issue. “He said with a sigh to one top staffer, ‘I can’t believe I’m losing to this idiot.’”

The November 15 issue “How He Did It” (on newsstands Thursday, November 4) includes an exclusive behind-the-scenes account of the entire presidential campaign reported by a separate Newsweek Special Project team that worked for more than a year on the extraordinary campaign.

4. It is my position...
...that white right-wing evangelicals should only count as 3/5th a person. Especially since they seem to function with about 40% less brain capacity and 60% bad information.

14. LOL . . . wha? you don't like their "moral values?"
Edited on Sat Nov-06-04 02:26 AM by TaleWgnDg
"moral values" . . . it's immoral to grant same sex couples the same benefits and obligations in law that are enjoyed by opposite sex couples (re marriage) but it is moral to bomb the crap outa Muslims, send our innocents to war, push up the deficit to historic levels, plummet the dollar to an all time low in recent history, rack up a humongous trade deficit, borrow money from foreign countries such as China, pollute our environment, paint "junk science" as the real McCoy, steal from the middle class, take away medication from our seniors, mix the military-corporate complex in a way that Eisenhower warned us against, adjust the income of Americans making the poor poorer and the rich richer, etc.

These rightwingers in power paint the most heinous acts as a spiritual gift from God and the religious "moralist" lunatics applaud em all. It's based in fear. Pure fear. And fear is the greatest motivator. The extremist rightwingers know how to manipulate and inspire f-e-a-r. Twist it together with a religion.

Fear and religion, what a great game plan! Osama does that too.

8. You can already find the entire package on the Web by going to
newsweek.com (it'll take you to msnbc.com/newsweek).

It's interesting -- it's supposed to be behind-the-scenes of both campaigns (they got access in exchange for no publication till after Nov. 2) -- but it actually goes into the Dean campaign a little bit.

10. Mind-boggling that a coward who hides is elevated above a real hero!
How did this happen? As if I don't know, Karl Rove...This monster manipulator has been quoted as saying that you can say anything or do anything against your opponent...the thing is to win at all costs!....

11. Oh, come on now . . . there's a brighter side to all of this . . .
1.) Kerry does not have to own the war in Iraq nor do the Dems.
2.) Kerry does not have to own the disgruntled world view of America nor do the Dems.
3.) Kerry does not own any part of the dropping value of the dollar nor do the Dems.
4.) Kerry does not own any part of the horrific national deficit nor do the Dems.
5.) Kerry does not own any part of the largest national government in the history of America nor do the Dems.
6.) Kerry does not own any part of anything regarding sweeping up all the crap after GWBush, the entire rightwingnut House or Senate; instead, those asses own it, lock, stock and barrel.

That's the beauty of not becoming president sweeping up after GWBush's trash!

of course the down side is civilization might not survive his attempts to pull out of this nosedive.

And of course all bad things that happen under Bush's watch will be Clinton's fault
