Should We Push The Right To The Right ???
I realize this is sort of shooting ourselves in the foot, but...

Several hosts on AAR have mentioned the fact that with control over all branches of government, the rePukes still have not made abortion illegal. Still have yet to get the constitutional ban on Gay Marriage up and running. Still... etc.

Should we, on the left, start pointing this out in a larger way?

The theory is, that the rePukes really aren't gonna do any of this, because the issue works better than the reality come election time.

And although I do not want to advocate or advance ANY of the rightwing's fascist plans, I wonder if we can disillusion the right by continually asking when they are gonna make their little nightmares come true.

Bush cannot run for re-election, he's got both houses of congress, and will pack SCOTUS even further. So what's the hold up, eh???

The hope here, of course, is that the country would not really stand for an actual right turn, and they'd come runnin back our way. We'll see.

36. "We" are nearly 50% of the country.
Of course we can do it. We can find "the power" again. But, we need to stop feeding on each other in displays of displaced agression, AND, then we figure out what really just happened and are able to articulate it.

We ALL feel like shit, for the same reason, so there's no reason to hurt each other verbally. The freepers must fucking LOVE IT! Don't give them that power over us. Please, lets stop with the personal attacks. Remember, they feed on fear. DON'T FEED THEM FREEPERS!:)

7. Oh I Agree, It's Just That...
those people (and I use the term loosely) are all ready and warming their hands together at the thought of Roe v. Wade (as an example) going down.

Well, what's the hold up? They've had the all three branches for some time now. The election is done. That 25\30 is gonna EXPECT RESULTS.

And I'm wondering if we shouldn't push 'em into that Brier patch.

Some sort of running clock (like the debt accumulation clock) might work....

"Day 1,453 of Republican control, and ABORTION IS STILL LEGAL!!!"

Until the rest of America "gets" who these people really are, we cannot win. I think we might need to help America see.

6. What we might do
is try to modify these moral issues. The Sanctity of Marriage Amendment should include an end to no-fault divorces. Or, all marriages not annulled by a church means the divorcees are not in fact divorced but are adulterers and any children from subsequent marriages are illegitimate.

12. good idea, push the repukes to end abortion rights, but stick in
the bill that the male has to pay 50% of his income for his offspring. I mean all christian males take care of their children right. I'm tired of arguing over this dumb shit, if they want to preach christian beliefs I say we start calling them on it.

one of the guys were I work at told me that bush was the man, so I asked when is he signing up for the army. he just smiled and said that he wasn't crazy.

We need Stealth Repubs to do it tho. We don't ever want to give the impression that the left is fully on board.

or maybe we do, but subverting the entire way.

8. And they'll DEMAND that the Cheney's send Mary to counseling to become
an EX gay.

And they'll stop all science research in its tracks.

And they'll have Ten Commandments in every classroom and courtroom, but NO regulations for the earth's biggest polluters.

Let men have to send their pregnant mistresses to Sweden for abortions or risk having their wives find out about secret abortion hospitals for the wealthy.

Let the country have that for 4 years.

10. I agree (today)
Just make them get it done. If they are anti-abortion then pass a law forbidding it. If they are against gay rights, then Dems should suggest some silly legislation and make them vote on it. I'm tired of the wedge issues. If America wants these, just adopt them and let them face the consequences.

I sort of enjoy the idea of ignorant righties losing their right to birth control. I think well informed folks will find a way to import bc from other countries. Let the ignorant folks suffer for their vote.

Note: This is my feelings on the day after the election. I doubt I will feel the same later.

You damned right. Make them look at their agenda, the whole thing, in every state. And vote. Force them to be honest with themselves and see if it's what they really want. You bet we should call them on their hypocrisy.

Divorce. Introduce laws banning it.

Media. Stop all shows that portray any sexual content.

Bring on the judges that want Biblical Law.

Do everything the Fundamentalists want.

16. 10-year mandatory sentence for adultery.
That's what I said the other day. Jail time if it can be proved that you entered into marriage without truly loving your partner. They wanna protect marriage? Well, then, BY DAMN, let's protect it.!!!

Let them live in the TRUE REALITY they voted for.

18. It's true they haven't banned abortion
or have eliminated civil unions or have put prayer in schools. It's also true we are not yet in labor camps. But that doesn't mean it won't happen, especially with Rehnquist's health and the age of the other supremes.

Also note that the RWers are very good at instituting these changes little by little, unnoticed by the public. They are very clever and won't stop at nothing to get to their version of Armageddon.

20. I'm beginning to think you're on to something
From these few responses thus far. We're a pretty damn intelligent bunch here and am sure if we put our heads together we can come up with a "poison pill" for almost every fundie wet dream. Make the house and senate leaders fight against measures that would make their agenda even more strict. Make them show their hypocrisy. Make Rush go back and get each of his other divorces dissolved in a church.
How about no proven or admitted adulterers are allowed to be appointed to government positions (Sorry Rudy). No elected officials that have been proven to be adulterers can draw their government retirements. God knows we should not be supporting these individuals with taxpayer funds (Sorry Newt, Bob Barr, Henry Hyde et.al and also I guess, Bill C.) No gay legislators at the federal level (sorry Kolbe).
Don't be afraid to join in, there must be hundreds of these we can modify to show the fundies that we are more moral than they.

23. Do it with taxes too...
A state can only receive federal money equal to what it sends to Washington. Let these fucking "get government off our backs" red states swing in the breeze.

26. That's something I've thought about for a long time
Put a multiplier on the tax rate. If your state receives government moneys exceeding those revenues sent in by your state by, say, 20%, you would figure your tax in the table then multiply by 1.2. The inverse would work for those states whose revenue to the feds exceeds the money returned.
This by all means should include FEMA cause "Hey" I didn't sell you that mobile home in Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, etc.

35. Repeal the Federal Income Tax - stop supporting the red states
You won't get any funding for that squishy, socialist education stuff
out of this macho bunch anyway. So, I say shut it down. Starve the
GOP beast.

Roll it back to the state level. The blue states will fund education
and insurance. The red states won't. The blue states will stay
civilized. The red states will revert to barbarism.
