My son: " Are we fleeing the country?"
He's in the IB program at a local ( Tampa Bay area ) school and asked me that when I picked him up from the bus stop. It seems a lot of kids at school are saying their parents want to " flee " the country. To his dismay, I told him I didn't think so. He really wants to move to Canada, poor kid.

1. That's sad
Tell him America isn't George Bush. It's ALL of us.

2. My 14 year old son wants to move to Canada too.
I can't stand that AWoL is screwing things up for this country and for my kids' futures..

3. My parents think it's time to go
We want to leave but don't know where to go yet. My mom is complaining that Canada's too cold and England's taxes are too high.

4. Oh Wow. Hang in there, and hug him often!
We are in scary times now - what will our children face. That's what worries me the most.

5. Wow, Kay, that's tough.
I'm in Pinellas myself. If your son is in the IB program, I'm assuming he is close enough to 18 to be concerned about a draft sometime in the next 4 years?? Any chance that has something to do with his wish?

I'm amazed at how many people have had the same thought, it seems to be pretty prevalent & not just here at DU.

Then again, just found out a co-worker that I liked said today how glad she was that * won, otherwise she was going to leave the country!!
:wtf:
