1. We'll have the last laugh
I can't wait to see their faces when Bush institutes a draft in the summer for the manpower for his endless wars.

4. Or when the deficit doubles to a trillion a year
or when reproductive rights are curtailed
or when religious freedoms are restricted, and fundie Xtianity is law
etc.
etc.

Problem is, when those things happen, I won't be able to laugh.

7. i'm sure they'll spin it in their favor
and the mindless denizens that voted for him won't know the difference.....if they didn't see his hypocrisy and contradictions thus far, they never will....the draft will only be poignent to the youth-voters who failed to turn out for kerry and are now the ones being drafted - and those aren't the people gloating now

9. Or when he gets busted for all the illegal shit he's done so far...
Remember, Nixon broke all kinds of laws and got away with various forms of douchebaggery during his first term, was re-elected, and then driven out of office in disgrace shortly thereafter. The evidence is there someplace, we just need someone with the balls to start digging.

20. But if we had some decent journalists who can tear down the curtain
and reveal the truth to the masses, then the masses will rise up and demand that their Congressional representatives do something about it. If there's one thing that trumps partisan loyalty in this country, it's the voices of an enraged electorate. Right now we've seen the tip of the iceberg, and even the tip is huge and impeachment-worthy by itself, it's just the top of something enormous.

May God have mercy on their souls....it's the best that I can do right now, Im honestly sick inside..I didn't know it would hit me this hard...

3. Yes, but just let them.
Once Bush starts enacting his extreme agenda and it starts affecting them and they start whining and bitching you can ask them who they voted for. And then YOU CAN GLOAT. That's what I am going to do. So just bide your time and let them gloat. It won't last long.

8. Am not sure what sucks most, fryguy
There's also the continued bloodshed in Iraq, the seniors with no medicine, the children who will be paying for this debt and who will have to figure out what to do with a collapsed society. There are so many people suffering, and who will soon suffer, immeasurably, that I can't decide what sucks most, exactly.

not with all the ills of the country and those we will likely face down the road.....you don't have to convince me, but the fact remains if, given all events of the past 4 years people still voted for * AND increased repub majorities in both houses of congress, it's hard to imagine that there is ANYTHING that could happen during the next four years to convince those same people from not voting for the repuke...

13. I know.
Two days ago we were crowing about how we were going to rub their faces in it. Now they're doing it to us. Say-la-vee.

But what gets me is how many DUers who were gloating about gloating are now turning and running away. We fought all we can, they say. This country is fucked. It's over.

They make me feel even worse than the pukes do. I can stand up to the hated opposition, but I am embarrassed for people I liked and admired.

15. well, I won't be seeing it
I refuse to watch the news at all for a long, long time. I don't leave the house. I wasn't part of the GOTV campaign because I rarely leave the house and I won't be leaving for a long time.

And before anyone yells at me for not helping... I have a tumor on my pituitary gland and I have gained massive amounts of weight in a few months, I am too dizzy to drive, I am often confused and can barely put a coherent thought together, my muscles hurt constantly, and a million other symptoms.

It's been hard enough for me to get through this day on no sleep with a pit in my stomach but your circumstances put my pain in perspective. I plan to do the same about the news -- I have allowed the Village Idiot and his cadre to ruin practically every day of the last four years of my life with coverage of his antics, and I'm not going to give him that opportunity during the next four. Take care and know you are not alone.

If you think this was bad, think back to 1972 after the Nixon landslide. These people are going to be very quiet about their support in a year or so.

I was in college and a guy called to cancel a date because I voted for McGovern. Ironically, I ran into him during the week that Nixon was driven from office and he fell all over himself about how "he had been deceived".

23. I watch the gloating
from the rich, well-off and wonder how they can be so pleased with themselves, don't they feel any shame?

But the gloating of the poor bastards who have no idea what they have done, hurts me cuz these people will be used and kicked and pissed on for four more years and they are dancing around like damn fools being laughed at by the rich bastards. They are the result of years of the republican policies keeping them from a good education and adequate nutrition and health care. I think one by one they will loose their jobs, health care, unemployment benefits, limbs, life, a loved one and ... hell, they will still love their bushy.
Fuck them... I'm so sick of ignorance. We are 3 trillion in debt, more tax cuts for the wealthy the week before we are sending more troops to Iraq which doesn't make sense since we can't even arm those who are already over there. And as the result, my son will be in some damn war for oil and greed. I think they should draft all the bastards who voted for * first. Blow their legs and arms off first. I'm so furious I don't even know what to do with myself.

31. Shake 'em off
It helps that I'm a bitch that most of them won't screw with, but I don't really have many problems with the Republicans I work with. As far as cable news shows, don't watch 'em, catch the local news when available. Stick to the local newspaper, which is generally okay, and ignore the Republican-heavy editorial sections.

I'm sad that Kerry didn't win because I really like him as a person, and I'm quite horrified by Bush. Did yesterday and today hurt if you're a Dem? Oh yes. But there's tomorrow ahead.

34. I have my response ready for my boss.
He thinks he is a Republican. He is far more Libertarian than Republican, but he is too ignorant to know the difference.

He will gloat when I see him next week. And I will let him. I will let him rant all he wants. When he is done, it will be simple questions.

1) What are you going to do with your company when your two software developers are called up in the special skills draft next January? 2) Do you think Geroge will give a rat's ass that your business will go under because you can't afford the ramp-up time for new developers?

JM
