Is this the final round of the Civil War??
Well, they always said the South would rise again.

It looks like this time they managed to do just that. Maybe New England plus New York (yes, even the Yankees fans) should freakin' secede and keep all our federal dollars here.

No, I'm not really serious about secession, but it really feels like the Southern right and fundies have overthrown the Enlightenment North in this country.

1. We're here in the South
just outnumbered. Can we move there if you secede?

Oh, wait, I'm in the north, but still in a red state. What about Michigan?

Well how about sending all the stupid red voters off to the wars they love to start. Now I want a draft.

7. I live in the south (born here)
and I agree, I hate it too. My wife and I had already decided to move to some blue state. If this country is to be governed by the American Taliban, then at least we won't have to live in the very heart of darkness. "You never go broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public."

8. You're ALL welcome here in Illinois !!!
Come on up to Chicago, or even Southern IL.
There is still Enlightenment here.
Except for a small handful, even the R's up here are tolerable.

11.  confederation in lieu of secession makes more sense
i posted on it a little while ago, but the boards moving too fast and it's back a page or two now. I am seriously thinking this country cannot reach consensus on the 'moral' and social issues.

12. As much fun as I have made of CA in the past,
as a place of crazies....it's looking better and better. Of course, the cost of living is slightly prohibitive there, but being homeless in CA, or being buried in a red state, hmmm, something to think about.
