So....who is ready to run for state office
After many drinks and much consternation I can only come up with the most simple of solutions to the problems which we face...local political power. We find ourselves in a repeat of 2000 but more importantly both houses are going to be controlled by the opposition with a strong possibility that the chimp has stolen another one. OK. Then what should we do?
We can sit and stew in our misery or we can figure out what we have done wrong and figure out how to change the situation to our advantage. YES...we have obviously done something wrong; if we can't convince the population to agree with what we think then there is a problem. The solution is to go local. State representatives determine federal districts, they determine local policy, they determine most of the ideology that effects our lives. This is where change can be made.
Sure, this is not as sexy as the executive or even the Senate, however, all politics are local and that is where we can lead. We have to admit that we have not done a good job selling our viewpoint and to do so we have to get local.
The point is we have to get ourselves or those that we agree with in positions in which positive change can be implemented . Those people are us because unless we do something, then all we are, are complainers and I don't want to be that. So I for one am going to be looking into my local races more intently to see what I can do.

Of course, Kerry may be down, but he ain't out and a K victory would make us all feel better.

It's what I've been thinking for the last 18 months.

the question then becomes how do we motivate those liberals that for whatever reason are more focused on the fed rather than the local/state? Any ideas?
