After Kerry-Edwards win, I suggest that they appoint Dennis Kucinich our
Secretary for Peacemaking, a newly created Cabinet Level post. This will send a clear message to the world, that the U.S. is going to support everyone in the world who resolves disputes through peaceful negotiations and shuns those take up arms.

Blessed are the peacemakers.

2. If he can be cloned, that would be Great!
Unfortunately, he's badly needed in the House.

I'd like to mention something to you....... several of your posts I wanted to read, but because you don't leave spaces after periods and commas, it's just too hard to read. Could you please do that, so I can read more of your posts?

Thank you.

Kanary

22. why not create
a house peace committee, with a corresponding senate peace committee and white house department?

kucinich could stay in the house, and maybe pres. clinton or somebody could take the cabinet position.

how does one go about creating something like that?

3. I think this is a great idea
Having a Cabinet-level officer whose job is to promote PEACE will take a lot of wind out of Osama´s sails.

9. It's even better than that!
Dennis' Dept of Peace proposal also means *DOMESTIC* peace!

In other words, serious attention to domestic abuse, hate crimes, racial crimes, and......

even working towards interpersonal peace. Maybe even Dems could learn to be peaceful with each other.

What a concept. :hi:

So, please go to his website, kucinich.us and sign the petition for the Peace Dept, get the number of the bill, and call your reps 1-800-839-5276 (tollfree) and ask them to sign on.

We *CAN* do this!

Thanks!

Kanary

5. Yes...and every dollar spent to wage war must be matched to wage peace.
This should be in the Constitution.

7. I will take this one step further and ask all major nations
to create similar positions so that this influential group can go to
the source of any problem and try to mediate disputes and head off wars.

Blessed are the peacemakers.

23. ????????
There hasn't been a war in the US for several years before we invaded Iraq, and there were THOUSANDS of people dying of poverty right here in the old U S of A.

Does that not count?

Or, not matter??

Is war the *only* issue??

Kanary, discouraged once again.....

24. The military industrial complex has concentrated wealth
and nearly bankrupted this country.

Ending war on the planet would result in rampant prosperity. Where do you think the supercharged boost to the Clinton economy came from? And that was just from military cut-backs.

I was being a bit flippant trying to be funny, but on the deepest level it is absolutely true.

We live way beyond our organic needs in this Country. The resources it took to fuel our ostentatiousness are used up. We change, or we die. Simple life is good. When I'm King, everyone will have a simple, good life.

25. No, *YOU* change or *I* die.
Y'know, when my survival is at issue, flippancy just doesn't cut it.

I'm beyond words that you seem to have no ability to understand that there are people in need, and not just middleclass people.

This constant shit about how great Clinton was, and how heavenly life was for everyone because of him is just plain SHIT. Do you have NO concern for those who suffered and died because of his evil end of welfare, done to boost himself politically??

You live in a different world from me, and I'm to the point of realizing that unless/until people like you *want* to understand, and to open your hearts enough to care, it's useless to even try to talk about.

over and out.......

Kanary

we lived in that world. Kucinich(who I'm all for by the way) has a better chance of being elected President in 2004 than being a Secretary of Peacemaking.

Attachment parenting, for example, could be taught in high schools.

He should be in a very high level cabinet position. The country is in dire need of him and his talents.
