Breaking, CLG exclusive!! 00:45, Saturday, October 30, 2004 --Huge police bustup of Timesup! environmental group gathering on Houston Street in Soho, New York. The Timesup! group was holding a Halloween 'revelry rebellion' on Houston Street. The police are trying to break it up. Approximately 75 cops with twelve police cars, three police vans, and an unmarked police car disguised as a taxi, have appeared near Milano's Bar on Houston Street, between Mulberry and Mott Streets. An undercover policewoman emerged from the (undercover) taxicab. She was wearing a white football jersey with number 26 on it, with the name 'Portis' on the back of her jersey. There are four arrests, thus far. Officer 'Portis' seems to be coordinating the police efforts. The van is holding the people under arrest, and is remaining on-site... The police are talking with the occupants. The door to the van has shut... The police van, with 'arrestees,' has just departed. Numerous spectators have gathered on the opposite side of the street. Houston Street is blocked in the Eastbound direction. Story provided *live* on the scene by a New York CLGer!!
