My opinion
If OBL is caught or killed it wont make a damn bit of difference in the world. No one will be safer, terror tactics will continue with renewed vigor because OBL will be a martyr. It's too late now. For the families of 9/11 i hope for them it will give them closure. Terrorisim will be a bush family legacy, that is what they have given thier country-terror, because of their greed and need for power.

2. why it will make no difference
Al Qaeda is a completely decentralized organization, with each cell financing itself.

What we have to do is to convince the Islamic world that we are not their enemy. Unfortunately, Bush has done everything possible to convince them that we are. OBL kills 3000 Americans, so Bush retaliates by killing 100,000 Iraqis? When the Iraqis had nothing to do with it? How does this help us or anyone else?

Bush has made the job much harder.

5. We have to convince them that Bush is our common enemy.
Really, that is the way it is. Bush is not an American patriot but a criminal propped up by a gang of criminals, just like the Nazis were when Hitler rose to power. Their intention is to end the Republic and replace it with the corporate dictatorship that will replace our Constitution, just like the Hitler trashed the Weimar Republic through the powers given to him by von Hindenburg basically dismantling their Constitution.

These people are anti-American.

4. At the risk of being flamed,
the Islamic world will always regard us as the enemy as long as we prop up Israel.

That isn't going to change. You know it. I know it. Welcome to perpetual war with 1 billion+ Muslims.

Well, there's only about 10 percent of the Muslims who care enough about the issue to fight over it, but that's still 100 million.

Investment will continue fleeing the U.S. to go to Asia because a perpetual war footing economy is not sustainable, particularly since the U.S. is already tens of trillions in debt.

6. Dude
one billion Muslims don't all think as one person. Israel is of course a major sticking point, and we should do something about it. (I.e. the settlements have to go -- all of them -- and at the same time we will do everything we can to stop terrorists killing Israelis). But the situation can't be hopeless. It just can't be.
