15. Fundraising and PR????????

For a Quaker meeting? Hell, even FUM/FGC doesn't harass its own members for dues they owe.

This is just bizarre. I'm a Quaker. I have yet to see anything in the way of fundraising by anything other than some of our youth groups for summer work projects. (Consisting mainly of bake sales, car washes and yard sales)

And PR????? I've seen ads by the Methodists, Lutherans, Catholics and Mormons. But I've -never- seen an ad of any kind, press releases or anything else about Quakers. Come to think about it, I even had to go to school once because my son's teacher told him he was lying about being a Quaker...that they had all died off more than a hundred years ago.


About the only thing I can think that would possibly fit here is the fact that most meetings believe that Kerry would be a much better alternative for the country and this group is trying to smear Friends.

And I especially don't care b/c when I followed the link I found the suit really has nothing to do with Clinton. She's suing the Quakers for allegedly treating her poorly because they allegedly knew of her alleged affair with Clinton from like the early 80s. Really silly stuff if you ask me. :)

But I read the person's blog and he seems to be a very open liberal to me...aside from the FR link the above poster mentioned that is in a section with a few other repuke links titled "If you must." Bad taste and a waste of good linking space but still stand by my request for cool heads.
