What RECENT foreign regimes does Bush and the GOP remind you of?

When I say "recent," I mean within the last three decades, so that leaves out Hitler or Mussolini.

Personally, when I think about *, I see aspects of Slobodan Milosevic (exploiting virulent nationalism), Zimbabwe's Robert Mugabe (intimidating the political opposition).

In some ways, the GOP also makes me think of Mexico's PRI (the longtime ruling party which dominated the country for several decades until Fox ousted them in 2000).

But I'm sure you could also compare Bush to any number of Third World kleptocrats as well, like Zaire's Mobutu Sese Seko, Philippines' Marcos, or Haiti's Duvalier.
