Republicans Gather to Bash Bush -- RM News
"A number of lifelong Republicans gathered at Kerry-Edwards headquarters in Denver on Monday to endorse Democrats this year.

Members of the group said they had soured for various reasons on President Bush's policies and would not support his re-election.

At the same rally, Mayor John Hickenlooper, a Democrat, formally endorsed John Kerry and John Edwards, saying he had studied promises, pledges and records of both parties and believed Kerry is the better choice for president.

"My decision wasn't based on partisanship," he said. It was based on the number of manufacturing jobs that have been lost, the number of households filing for bankruptcy, the rising cost of insurance and the loss of wages during the Bush tenure, Hickenlooper said."

2. What I don't understand ...
with lifelong Repubs voting for Bush*, and with so many people who voted for Bush* last time saying, "Never again," how can this election be seen as anything close to close?

3. and very very few Gore voters are going to vote *bush
this time.

Somewhere on DU there is some information about how Gore's polling numbers were really incorrect compared to the reality of the votes that were counted. (We know that the GOP managed to trash thousands of votes in many states -- lots of documentation.)

5. Something doesn't make sense, does it?
But, since Zogby's numbers are also close..............

The point is, we have soooooo much work to do with all these new RepDems :), to educate them about what the Democratic party is really all about, and move them forward, beyond the lies they have swallowed all these years.

If we just allow them to pull the party more rightward, we haven't won anything.

6. Why, Zell Miller, of course!
Zell Miller, and the thousands like him, who have always been such staunch, progressive, forward-thinking liberals are now seeing the great advantages of George Bush!

Okay, seriously though, I have no clue why the polls show such even division. Probably a media tactic.
