I remember 2000
Most of the polls were saying Gore was losing by 5 to 8 points

That morning I had voted for Gore, but had already resigned myself to his defeat. Then the evening came, and the 5 to 8 point lead that they were all screaming about was gone.

I learned a very important lesson that day:

1. How powerful the media is, and why it is so important that it is independent

2. Grass root efforts do make a difference. When Zogby called it for Gore, it was dumb luck. He didn't count on the last minute turnout that occurred in Florida, no one did.

The last minute turnout we had in 2000, will be at least double in 2004. No one can estimate this in a poll. They didn't do it in 2000, and they won't do it this time either.

Here are the assumptions that that we are being fed by the media:

1. 18-24 year olds do not vote. College students do NOT vote
2. Poor people do not vote
3. People do not care about the Supreme Court
4. Women do not care about choice
5. People do not care about stem cell research
6. People do not care about the environment
7. The economy is doing well
8. Newly registered voters will not affect this election

We are far better off in the polls today than Gore was in 2000. AS LONG AS WE HAVE LARGE TURNOUT WE WIN!

This is NOT wishful thinking, it is reality

1. Two to add to that list:

Nobody uses a cell phone exclusively.

Nobody ever hangs up on a pollster.

3. I Sense a Movement to Kerry.

I think it'll be a 2-3% margin in the popular vote and 290-300 electoral votes.

The rethuglicans will try to disenfranchize as many people as possible, but I believe that we're ready for them this time.

I don't think we'll get Florida's EVs. Notice I didn't say we wouldn't win them, but I think that jebby will do all he can to steal it for his brother again. He knows that if his brother loses (again), the long knives will come out in the republican party and nobody named bush will get anywhere near the national ticket for a long, long time. And remember, jebby is daddy's boy and the one that he wanted to be president.

HUZZAH!!! MY 700th POST!

6. Good post - we should win, but
I am still a little scared that they play dirtier then we do, and those tricks will overcome our hard work. I hope our poll watchers protect those voters.
