I'm in a debate with someone who claims the fact that a federal judge made this ruling proves the connection between Iraq and 9/11. Was there an appeal?

1. If memory serves

The judge said that there was only the skimpiest of evidence that Saddam and Osama were co-conspirators but in the face of no defense whatsoever, he ruled for the families.

I can't find the link but it was an absolute travesty because theere wasn't any rebuttal to the most outrageous testimony. Maybe so other DUeers can find the link. At the time it was feared by many that this extremely wierd ruling would be used a "proof" that Saddam was related to AQ.
