DUers HELP ME count the recent media diversions....nasty e-mail time!
Edited on Thu Oct-21-04 05:18 PM by shelley806
Please help me list some of the recent diversions that media has been using to avoid discussing the elephants in the white house (Iraq war, casualties of war, breeding of terrorism, Cheney's involvement via subsidiary of Halliburton in oil for food, CIA Plame case, and all of the evilness of this criminal administration). The 4 most recent media diversions:

1.) Ridiculous overblown remark about Laura's job-taken completely out of context
2.) Pat Robertson abd Bush: Who is lying or is this just a media ploy? The whole Pat Robertson thing was probably planned...they did it in 2000. Think about it. Robertson takes the moral stand, the evangelicals look to him for moral support in an immoral war, and he gets the chance to tell them..."don't worry. I warned him. But vote for Bush anyway."
3.) Mary Cheney ooooh the wrong L word- Lesbian
4.) Kerry's hunting outfit

Any others? I'm going to blast as many newshows as I can. I'm sick of the label of left winged press, when all they do is cover nonsense or support Bush by ignoring the facts.

Interesting idea, shelley!

You've definitely listed the most egregious distractions of the past few days... can anyone else think of others?

I missed this, but it sounds like a Rove trick. Was it recent? I'll google it if you don't have a link.

6. Sandy Berger!! Good one!

Hey, I just thought of another one... The "Terror Alert" that was disclosed the day after the triumphant Democratic National Convention this summer. The same "Terror Alert" that was based on three-year-old data.

8. I think you've hit the major ones.
If you want to go back a little further, there was the incident where THK told the reporter to "shove it" - that got a lot of attention.

I didn't mean to ignore your thread initially. I got distracted putting up my "worst date ever" post!

:hi:

9. Arrrgggghhhh, the "Shove It!" controversy!!
I'd completely forgotten about that. Remember how they tried to make that comment into "the" story of the Dem National Convention? It happened on the eve of the convention, as I recall.

Then, it backfired, as more women actually admired THK for speaking her mind and getting tough on the campaign trail, especially with reporters who had dogged her and her family for years.

GO THK!!
