Frank Luntz: "Its time for Bush to get worried"
Its time for Bush to get worried
By Frank Luntz
October 15, 2004

The big story of the US presidential election up to Thursday was how few undecided voters there were. Now the final presidential debate is over, these voters have essentially made up their minds - and it is George W.Bush who should be worried. If John Kerry is elected the 44th president, it will be because of a single night in Miami, Florida, when he came to debate and Mr. Bush came to - well, no one is quite sure. The double-digit lead that Gallup polls, long considered an authority for presidential polling, gave Mr. Bush after the Republican convention was fully erased by that fateful 90-minute confrontation.

Step by step, debate-by-debate, John Kerry has addressed and removed many remaining doubts among uncommitted voters. My own polling research after each debate suggests a rather bleak outlook for the Bush candidacy: many who still claim to be “undecided” are in fact leaning to Mr. Kerry and are about ready to commit.

1. Encouraging
The sad thing is that Kerry doesn't have a 20+ point lead. It says a lot about the state of the nation that this race is even close. There are a lot of either gullible or just plain mean-spirited people out there.

3. really, it says a lot about the MEDIA
honestly, if a democrat had shrub's record, and shrub's debate performances, he'd get such bad press that he wouldn't even be running. in fact, there would probably be impeachment hearings and/or a cry for removal for medical reasons.

i'm not sure how "gullible" it is when the media is highly selective in the issues and facts it presents, as well as the conclusions. honestly, the way they presented everything, you'd think the decision to go to war really was all the cia's fault, that THEY got it all wrong. it took a fair amount of digging for those of us who knew that the intelligence was being corrupted BY shrub and the gang.

4. You're right unblock. It is all about the media.
When we do get rid of the BFEE, we should go to work exposing the corporate media for the worthless hacks that they really are. we need to make surethat our fellow citizens and especially our children realize that they can't believe anything that comes out of the "idiot box" and that the more they watch it the less they know.

5. What is not showing up
In these polls that come out, people that use their cell phones as their primary communication are not polled.

Do you have any idea how many young people use their cell as their primary phone? The number is huge.

Ther's a ton of poor Americans that are not polled, yet they will be at their voting place bright and early on 11/02.

Im ny opinion, polls are not to be trusted, as you will see on election day.

Can you say landslide :)

See ya in 16 days.

President Kerry reporting for duty.
