George W Bush is in way over his head
It's time for his supporters to face the truth. Their denial is sinking this country fast. He was asleep at the wheel and allowed our nation to be attacked, when he had enough intelligence to stop it. He took our record surplus and gave it away to his wealthy friends in the form of a taxcut. His policies created the lack of confidence now in our markets. The latest deficits are supposedly $480 billion for next year, and that is not counting any money spent on the war in Iraq. He has turned the entire world against us. Yet, there are those that cling to the thin thread that this guy might know what he is talking about. Face it. He is in away over his head.

It does make a difference who is in the White House. No number of advisers can make up for the deficiency at the top. He should not be impeached. He should resign out of decency and for the benefit of the country.

1. I feel very bad far any Dem that wins
Because his first year is going to be rough. He will be attacked rather harshly by FReeper types everywhere because of Bush's fuckups.

But, I agree. I really don't think people appreciate how much Bush is screwing this country over.

2. Correct sir!
Any Dem that gets the office is going to have one hell of a time with our "liberal" media. All of the things we bitch about Bush actually doing and never getting called on, the media will seize on our president and hammer on and on, regardless of the fact that he didn't create the problem, but is rather solving it.

I truly, truly, truly hate our media.

3. Perhaps it is a mistake for Democrats like Dean and others to say....
such things as we will "balance the budget"...we will give healthcare to the whole nation, etc. How are they realistically going to do that with the present conditions that Bush has created. Perhaps they should keep expectations low and let people know what a deep hole this guy has gotten us into. Then, if he does better than expected, all the better.

5. As the great Krugman put it:

"...even the government of a superpower can't simultaneously offer tax cuts equal to 15 percent of revenue, provide all its
retirees with prescription drugs and single-handedly take on the world's evildoers — single-handedly because we've
alienated our allies. In fact, given the size of our budget deficit, it's not clear that we can afford to do even one of these
things. Someday, when the grown-ups are back in charge, they'll have quite a mess to clean up."

6. they are all in over their heads,
Rummy can't run a decent war or anything, this morning I heard that Halliburton is doing such a lousy job of supporting our troops that a mom is taking donations from all over the US and buying air conditioners and sending to Iraq so the men can sleep in enough comfort that they can do their jobs. The mom said that it was so hot in the tent her son had to sleep in that a BAR OF SOAP MELTED while he slept. Before long we are going to have guys dropping like flies if that is the way bush and halliburton support our troops. If they thought this war was so d******med important why arent they sending enough support to keep the troops healthy?

10. Air conditioners - but don't they need electricity? Maybe we should send
some generators too. Oh, and some gas to put in them...unless they're importing enough into Iraq to run the things...
