bwahaha... Keyes has to all but crash a republican event in Illinois
Candidate Keyes crashes GOP dinner party

October 4, 2004

BY GARY WISBY Staff Reporter

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Alan Keyes wasn't invited to speak Sunday at a dinner sponsored by the New Trier Township Republican Organization, but he showed up anyway.

Tolbert Chisum, who heads the group, said the ultraconservative candidate didn't get a chance to be heard "because we have a full program."

Despite the apparent snub, Keyes' deputy campaign manager, Dan Proft, said Keyes was "encouraged" by his reception at the event, held at Allgauer's Restaurant at the Northbrook Hilton.

Missed it when it happened ... but still amusing. Another for the "what were they thinking" (per Ill republicans who recruited this guy) file.

2. And how should we cast this comedy (?)
The recently late Dangerfield as a primary campaign strategy consultant?

7. He would be perfect.
And in the lead role of Keyes...

Hmmm.
Slap a beard on James Earl Jones and go to town.

Although I don't know how well JEJ could do comedy...

4. You should live in Chicago!
It's hysterical watching the local morning news shows and seeing the Illinois GOP leadership having to go YET AGAIN before the cameras and apologize for/distance themselves from/bad mouth Keyes. They don't want anything to do with him. Rove & Hasstert rammed Keyes down their throats when no one local wanted to run against Obama.

9. Who the hell's still saying Illinois is a "swing state"

Neither Shrub or Kerry comes here, and we don't see any campaign commecials.

Illinois is the bluest of the blue states!
