Anyone ever notice this common Repuglican weakness?
I've noticed that Repugs really mess up when they start overreaching. It's like they get a taste of power, get addicted to it and then overdose on it. Take the Medicare battle. They thought they had it all until the devil in the details emerged.

Another example is Delay - his arrogance grew so wild that it now looks like it could surround and torch him. We can even go back to Gingrich. A better example is Bill Clinton's run in 92. Can everyone recall that the so thought of best candidates sat that one out because of Bush I's high favorables? I remember back then that in the early start of the campaign season, many thought it was a sure losing campaign.

I mention this because it doesn't seem the Dems do this.

1. Actually...
The first thing I thought of was that Clinton pretty much did the same thing when he went for health care reform, gays in the military, and so forth. The result was Gingrich and the Republican revolution. I think he's pretty much admitted they overreached. He said they shouldn't have tried to do health care first before welfare reform.

2. I agree on health care, partly, but...
I think the repugs forced his hand on gays in the military....he made those remarks early in his campaign and wanted to go slowly but they pushed it on him....

3. Their arrogance will be their downfall
remember that we have news footage of everything over the last three years.

The truth is on our side and we can prove it.

They made it really easy actually, it's all there really, everything caught in those breif moments of "news." Their entire agenda, the lies, everything we have it all on tape.

4. I'm still pissed and think it was a HUGE mistake as well as a give-in
to republican lizards that Clinton signed the Welfare "Reform" bill.

That damn thing has caused UNTOLD sorrow--much to the JOY of the republicans. :spank: :grr:

5. Elephant Pathology
Remember, we're talking about a political party which embraces arrogance as strength, stubbornness as tenacity, and belligerence as virtue. Such a grand institution built on basic character flaws has no place in any honest society.

These people will consume their own for political gain.

These people rely on and promote the ignorance of the common man.

Every society, past, present and future, will see an equivalent of the republican party. No society has, or will ever overcome the anger, greed and selfishness that is hard-wired into some as a result of a skewed value system that places material gain over simple happiness.
