Well, I volunteered with my local Dem headquarters today
I've been thinking about it for a while - I'm out of work on a surgical leave until January so I have the time, I have the motivation. I only have some physical therapy appointments to work around, so today I did it. There was a lady outside the supermarket registering voters and I asked her about volunteering. She was delighted to take my name and number so I should hear from them soon.

Woo hoo!! I look forward to starting. I'm psyched!

2. That's terrific!
You will have a lot of fun. I've been walking the precincts talking to folks. When you realize that there are more people supporting Kerry than chimp, you will feel more energized than ever!

I was a little nervous at first because Arizona is notoriously a red state. But after talking to people, I sense a big change a'comin!

Glad you joined up. Keep us posted on your experiences.

:hi:

5. Thanks
I look forward to meeting others who are also working. I've been doing a lot on my own but feel it's time to join up officially. I had registered at least 5 or 6 people at work prior to going out for surgery and I try to talk to people and educate them as often as the opportunity arises but it will feel good to be working in concert with others.

3. If you don't hear from them within a matter of days, call
the local party HQ, or stop by. Remember, you are volunteering to work with the DEMOCRATIC Party, ha ha! Seriously, slips of paper get lost or misplaced. Remember, this is a volunteer organization, and not all volunteers are 'organized', and most that I've seen are gung ho, good hearted, willing to help with just about anything, but inexperienced. And being Democrats, we are, of course, human.

So if they don't call you fast, you call them. The help is very much needed.

Thanks for volunteering!

4. Congratulations and welcome aboard. You will have more fun than
you know. Hubby & I have been volunteering since July for JFK, and we have a blast. They are so nice, and it is great to see folks who agree with us. Went to the debate watching party, and was it great to be able to laugh and clap and everyone was doing the same. And best of all, you are actually saving the world.

7. Cool
I was invited by this lady to a debate watching party on Tuesday and think I will probably go. It would be fun to watch with a bunch of people.

Yeah, the feeling of being a part of a group that is trying to do some good is a nice feeling.

9. You should go. I haven't had that feeling of camaraderie since college
when you'd all get back from finals and sit down and drink. You will really have fun.

6. Good for you! I volunteered yesterday too, did some phone bank work and
lawn sign passing-out and what-not...
Feels pretty good, except for the morons one does encounter here and there...
