1. It doesn't mean a thing
The polls are not accurate. They do NOT reflect the undecided voters or the 18 - 24 year old group

Their sampling distribution is also wrong

CHILL

5. The state polls lag behind the National Polls
Kerry will be trouncing Bush soon. But the poll that matters is on Nov 2.

7. EXACTLY
Especially since about 100 of the 301 votes given to Bush are within the margin of error.

9. Have any new post-debate state polls even come in yet?
Plus, I'm always wary of polls, whether they seem to hurt or help us. Polls don't mean anything in the long run--in 2000, polls had * up by 10 points weeks before the election, and we all know how that turned out. Add to that the throngs of new voters who aren't being counted, and you've got a formula for skewed results.

10. the site takes the most recent poll ....
if a poll is suspect, he (webmaster) will mention it, but he keeps to the hard rule of using the most recent poll ... the webmaster of the site supports Kerry BTW

14. there is a very helpful site that, while incorporating latest poll data,
offers a sane discussion of what's going on as the polls report in, including where the bias of particular pollsters might be. The link is:

17. Wow, look at Mississippi
I'm from Mississippi, and my parents are still there. THey've been telling me Kerry could win the state if he campaigned there, because their new Republican governor is so hated right now. I posted that on this board and got blasted a couple of months ago as being an idiot.

It's in the "weakly Bush" column, and that's before the debates.

19. CNN's Poll?
If you will notice that CNN has Bush winning Ohio. The latest poll and CNN showed it this past week that Kerry had the lead in that state. CNN tilts their polling towards Bush and even in their electoral view as well. CNN needs to come back to the center and report their news instead of right leaning. Hell they CNN will never be the conservatives choice for news. The right has Faux and they are fed pablum all day over there. So CNN can gain an edge by coming back to the center..... Watch this week especially how CNN reports on Bush....If their poll tonight shows Kerry in the lead I bet CNN will say we have a horse race. Whereas, last week when Bush took a lead a week after the convention, CNN was reporting as the race was over..... So, I do not worry about CNN's polling.....

24. CNN: Conservative News Network
ANYTHING and EVERYTHING on CNN is as suspect and questionable as anything and everything on Faux. CNN is blatantly trying to remake itself in the image of Faux to bolster its ratings. CNN is no longer a capable, competent, impartial news source. Its glory days are over!

21. it means nothing
These polls of polls are slowest to account for global trends, since much of the composite data live in last week's jigsaw puzzle. Even if all 50 states (and DC:) were polled simultaneously, the collective margin of error would be plus or minus florida (and then some).

22. Now
that the National polls are showing a boost for Kerry the creeps are trying to skew the electoral votes.

Well, screw them, the only polls that are important are--ELECTION DAY!

Talk about running scared?
