Anyone seen any Farenheit 911 ads?
According to my Netflix queueu, its video release is set for Oct 5.

Strange that I have yet to see a TV ad for this DVD.

I have seen a couple of Blogs which said the networks were refusing to sell advertising time for the movie but I can't understand why they would allow the ads during the theater run but now refuse ads for the DVD.

I think Moore should advertise a lot in the "movies" sections of local papers.

6. Saw one commercial last week, maybe 15 seconds long,
on one of the networks -- can't recall which. It wasn't on a news show. A Nikki Finke column in the LA Weekly, at http://www.laweekly.com/ink/04/45/deadline-finke.php , explains why there's no advertising for this film on the evening news shows where the people most interested in it would see the commercials. (Drudge actually posted a link to that column for a few hours, gloating over Sony's inability to get the commercial time it wanted for the film, until it apparently occurred to him -- or someone pointed out to him -- that Finke's column does a brilliant job exposing Republican control of Big Media, which of course wingers don't want people aware of...and not only did the headline/link disappear from Drudge's main page, but I couldn't find it among the archived stories, either.)

The ads in my local paper are interesting, too. Stores like Best Buy that would normally give front-page attention to the DVD release of a successful film have nothing about "Fahrenheit 9/11" except on the page for new DVD releases.

13. DishTV sees it on CNN
They have been running it during the afternoon/evening programs.

BTW, if you have not seen http://www.hijackingcatastrophe.org/, this is a MUST SEE and MUST SPREAD around.

I've been fortunate enough to see most of the recent documentaries including F911, The Corporation, Control Room, Hunting The President, and others. We have a local theater that airs all of these when they are available.

What Moore does in F911 is to try to cover so many issues you practically need a notepad and a rewind button. In Highjacking Catastrophe, they have a single focus - and do that very well, straight out of the gates. They go back into the background of the various players, show what was happening at www.newamericancentury.org while they were out of government, and how they proceeded as soon as they got in.

As an interesting point, just after seeing "highjacking" on www.LinkTV.org last week, CSPAN aired the 2000 debates between Bush & Gore. In that debate, Bush very clearly started laying out the Saddam & WMD threat. It's interesting seeing that debate, with the wareness of what has occured since.

17. No TV but print ads...
I think it was in Newsweek or something.

I could care less who promotes it. It's not even released yet and it's #4 on the bestsellers list, nad come Tuesday I'll be buying around 10 copies for friends, etc. I think we should all show our support for the movie and get some TV press by flooding the stores Tuesday and buying at least one copy. :)
