When Kerry wins and he signs the International Criminal Court thing -
can Bush and friends be tried for war crimes? I am serious. Wouldn't this re-establish our love of justice and the rule-of-law and help bring peace to the middle east?

1. I am pretty sure, which is probably why Bush opposes it so much

3. Amen.
Bush might as well have said he opposed the court because he fears he'll be hauled in front of it.

2. Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld will have to take it on the lam
The only problem is, there won't be any place on Earth where they can go run and hide.

And yes, I can't think of anything that would raise our nation's stature in the world higher than to bring these thugs to justice.

7. Although it's possible, it's highly unlikely the US would sign a treaty
which subjected people retroactively to criminal charges for the violation of laws which weren't laws when they committed their actions.

In fact, I remeber reading that the criminal court doesn't apply retroactively to any countries which have already signed up for it.

What it will do however, is possibly force the Bush family into a new line of work other than making money off of international chaos.

9. Whether he signs it or not, our government
is still bound by the Geneva Conventions and that will cover the thugs in the white house.

Don't hold you breath waiting for that to happen.
