Bush's Last Stand

President Bush likes to think of himself as a "war President," who is "resolute," "steadfast," and "decisive." He also likes to compare himself to historical figures. His favorite is Winston Churchill who led Great Britain through the horrors of World War II.

I believe a comparison to a historical figure is appropriate but I think he is much more like a famous American military leader - General George Armstrong Custer.

1. Custer, another "uniter"...

"The Indians, formerly opponents of each other, united against the vicious attacks of the U.S. military and thousands of former enemies combined their forces to attack George and his troops."

3. bush's hero, Winnie Churchill...

"I do not understand squeamishness about the use of gas. I am strongly in favour of using poisoned gas against uncivilised tribes." wrote Winston Churchill regarding the UK's gassing of the Kurds.

Hitler was also a "war President," who was "resolute," "steadfast," and "decisive."

UNLIKE Custer, bush, the most protected man in the world, hides safely BEHIND the troops.

4. Very good article and eerily similar

to this George. But as the author pointed out, at least Custer led his men and didn't just send them. So despite being a horrible leader he was still a better man than this George.
