Devine slams CNN poll- ON CNN
Judy Woodruff says "isn't this poll bad news for John Kerry?"

He replied the poll is all wrong because they polled 8% more republicans than Democrats and that is not the turnout that happens on election day.

Stick it up your ass Fox Jr!

4. WOW, WOW, WOWIE!
This is BIG! I've always known those polls were skewed, but it's amazing how we've accepted that the media used them to create a false illusion of support for the president. I think from this point on we should be asking for the breakdown of political party from those polled. YOu Report the facts, and WE'll decide if the polls mean anything.

13. They're still pushing the results of the poll on Headline news
without telling the public it's 8% skewed in favor of the Republians.

<sigh>

6. If this keeps up
They're going to be presenting polling results drawn from a pool of folks attending Bush and Cheney rallies. And Stupidhead STILL won't get over 50%!

7. I am glad...
That more and more people are making this point, and finally doing it in a format where
more people are likely to be made aware of it.

Zogby, Media Matters, Rasmussen and ARG have all pointed out this oversampling
of Republicans being done in polls performed by pr for the major media outlets, but
this has had less visibility than reporting such favoritism towards Bush would have if it
were reported IN those major media sources themselves.

The more people made aware that cable news, network news, and the major print media
are designing their polls in favor of Bush, the better it will be for Kerry, as it will
make an already suspect media appear even more un-trustworthy

9. playing the Devil's Advocate here
Isn't there some way that more people could have shifted to describing themselves as GOP?

However, I do remember that even in the 92 election, more Dems voted than GOP.

But how about the elections in the 1980s? Has it always been more Dems than GOP in recent times?

10. Didn't the WSJ of all publications--put out an article on how
the polls were skewed in some instances? Does she not read the major dailies? Oh--of course not--she's too busy memorizing those * talking points faxed over from Karl Rove every morning.

14. Where they poll is also important. many times they poll from
Red states, not blue. The so called fly over states.

Pew does polls for party affliation every year with samples of about 20,000 people. They've found that Democrats lead Republicans by 4 percent.

15. Then these Big Name polls for the Networks are just JUNK
Also, if we had several polls of Independent voters, that would be this issue to rest. The last poll I saw of Independent voters had jfk with a comfortable lead....

19. that's right
If a poll's internals say Kerry leads idendepedents, Kerry's should be tied or leading the whole poll.
