Dean supporters: who's your second choice?
Mine's Kucinich, but I guess that there are about as many Kerry second-placers as there are Kucinich second-placers.

10. Kerry
I love Kucinich but pragmatism tells me he won't win any nomination anytime soon. I would have to go with Kerry as our second best chance to win the Presidency. I have a built in problem with any Army lifer, Referring to Clark.

12. Kerry.
My choice (under the current circumstances) would be Kerry, but
that's, as the pollsters say, a "soft" choice.

I'd dump Kerry for Gore in half-a-heartbeat.

Politically, I ought to line up more closely with Kucinich, but
I believe he's unelectable.

I might be woo-able to Clark, but I'm not even going to think
about that as long as Howard Dean is running.

I would actively work against Lieberman, Edwards, and probably
Graham.

> If Gore ran, would you put him between Dean and Kerry or right above Dean?

That's an interesting question.

I really like the idea of Gore coming back and kicking shrub in
the most hurtful place possible: the ballot box. This would have the
character of a traditional Greek tragedy writ large, where the evil
schemer really does get his come-uppance in exactly the best way
that the Fates could deliver it. And I really like Al Gore as both
a candidate and a person; he's far better in both ways than his 2000
media portrayal would have led anyone to believe.

But the media know just how to slime Al. And they had so much fun
doing it in 2000 that you can be damned-sure they'd try to do it
again in 2004.

I don't think they know quite what to do with Howard Dean, at least
not yet. So if he gets "embedded" in the public consciousness now,
he probably can't be slimed quite as effectively later.

I know my wife doesn't want to see another Gore run, for many of the
reasons I just enunciated. And I value her opinion.

All things considered, I'm pretty sure my selection order would be:

  1. Dean
  2. Gore
  3. Kerry

Again, this omits consideration of Clark, at least for now.

Originally I'd have supported Kerry and Kucinich, but all the bashing here has me even more determined to get Dean elected. Same with Clark supporters, but Clark will make a great VP.

Except for Lieberman I will vote for anyone in the general election, but enthusiastically support - I doubt it.
