It seems to me that THIS was the first fight the Democratic party absolutely HAD to win! But Tom Delay forced Rush Holt's bill to stay in committee, the Senate did no better with Bob Graham's bill. The Dem's had to somehow bypass the press and take this issue to the public (somehow informing and inspiring the people to demand this democracy killing problem be remedied), but didn't until now. For all the hard work of Bev Harris & Co. - the problem obviously wasn't remedied - and America now finds itself on the verge of having having it's national election rigged on a grand scale.
No matter how hard Kerry campaigns or how thoroughly he trounces the fool War Chimp in the debates, no matter how much money the Democratic Party spends on ads - will any of it now matter? Does anyone out there doubt that BushCo will resort to stealing this election by using these electronic systems to alter the tabulations? They used it in Volusia County, FL to help steal the 2000 election (it got Chimpy to be named president-elect - a title he refused to relinquish as Gore tried to "steal" his presidency. Our long time reliable exit polling service VNS (who called the 2000 election correctly, just as they had every other one) has been dis-banned and replaced by something of an unknown quantity.
At this late date, is there something, anything that can be done to prevent this theft? It's been suggested that additional exit polling could be conducted by a reputable entity such as Zogby. Michael Moore's taking his cameras down to Florida. The Kerry camp is already promising/threatening legal challenges, but... Skewed corporate polls try represent the ridiculous Bushler as having a substantial lead. How can that be possible with his record - easily the worst in the history of the office? How can it even be a race at all? They've got us ready for it. They've got us believing the mad idiot is electable. I don't buy it, and neither do any of my close friends or family - from three different states (2 swing). They're going to steal it - period. What are we going to do?
