Bush's confused answer to question belittles Marines sacrifice at Najaf
Edited on Thu Sep-23-04 06:44 PM by xray s
"By the way, it's the Afghan national army that went into Najaf and did the work there." George Bush 9/23/04 Press Conference

The US Marines had one of the most brutal battles of Bush's Iraq war at Najaf. It involved actions within a graveyard the size of a small city, where death was hovering over every corner. Many Marines were injured, and many died. Some of the combat was hand to hand with knives.

But, in an effort to put out a lie that everything is hunky dory in Iraq, the fraud occupying the White House made the ridiculous statement that others were the ones that "did the work there". He couldn't even get the frickin' country right!

This coming from the mouth of the man who won't go to the funerals of the men who died in the battle of Najaf, or any other battle for that matter.

He is a disgrace. He dishonors our men and women in uniform.

What a jerk

2. "Disgrace" is far too kind a word for what this filthy little imbecile
really is.
He has totally embarrassed this nation in the eyes of the world and about half his own countrymen/women...
what a pathetic loser. Pathetic.

3. I really doubt the Chimp could find either Iraq or Afghanistan on a map
that didn't have the names printed. Hell, he might not be able to do it on a LABELLED map! :grr:

4. WTF?
Is the Afghan army in Iraq? And if so, why? Aren't they needed in Afghanistan? Let's just say they were in Najaf helping, his wording really dismisses what the US troops went through.
:wtf:

5. But Kerry said "sensitive"!
So let's all stampede over and make fun of him for using the exact same word Bush used, but when Bush can't even get the name of the freakin' country right, it's free pass time from the bulldogs of the liberal media.

6. Surely he meant Iraqi. I would think the Afghans would be protecting
Afghans. On the other hand he messes everything else up so I should not be surprised.

8. Karl needs to get some
Post-It Notes for Junior then launch into a geography course. Now that Bush has learned that Africa is not a `country` he ought to try to get Iraq and Afghanistan straight on the map.

By the way, what were the Marines doing in Najaf? Vacationing?

Bush is such an ass.

This point should be sent to the campaign

It's too easy to stop at ridiculing him for saying "Afghan" rather than "Iraqi", but the Marines are also horribly slighted in this remark.
