Suggest a consistent, reliable foreign news source here
As sick and tired as I (and the rest of us) are with trying to glean what the f*** is going on in the world through the corporate filters of U.S. news, can you suggest some good foreign news services where I can get world news?

Any info is appreciated.

3. PBS Newshour
Is actually pretty fair. Yeah, a lot of white middle-age men, but pretty good in explaining global happenings. They don't skimp on time for a story either. Give it a try, you might be surprised.
One caution: As the names of the newly dead are released, this show ends with their "Honor Roll": Pictures and names of the dead soldiers with no sound. It gets very depressing...

8. NWI (NewsWorld International). DirecTV and Comcast have it.
Though you have to pay an extra $5 a month in my area to get it thru Comcast. It's part of the middle of the road DirecTV package.

It's owned by Canada, so there's a lot of Canadian news. But they also show news programs from other countries, like Japan, Britain, Germany, one or two of the Middle Eastern countries, etc.

Trouble is....a lot of the news doesn't concern U.S., so if that's what you're looking for, you have to wait a while to get to the news that we're interested in. Still, it has world news of most all countries, so you get a wider portayal of how things are.
