5. Nope
I saw that someone else said it was coming on later tonight but I looked on the menu guide and it's not showing for me. I'm so pissed by this I could spit nails at them.

10. They DID show it in Orlando
They were scheduled to show the movie, but they bumped it back and showed 60 minutes at 8:00.

This was NOT censorship. The printed guide from the paper last Sunday had the movie scheduled and the cable guide info was uploaded a week ago -- it isn't realtime. For example, it didn't change last week or so when it was 24 hour hurricane coverage (it still had the regular shows listed).

Mrs. Knox was just scheduled TODAY. The CBS affiliate did a good thing by bumping the CSI:Miami rerun and pushing the movie back to show it.

20. Well thats screwy
I turned the channel to 6 to see if it was on and it wasn't. I even went back there around 8:20 or so to see if it came on later and it still wasn't on. Your saying it was on at 8? And my satellite guide was just updated 2 days ago for the week due to a power outage and it still showed the movie as playing.

22. Yep. I watched it.

the Knox story, a story about Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker that I'd seen before and a story on that crazy fundie general.

The sattelite guide would still have listed the movie. My digital cable guide still listed the movie (but that's not real time -- it listed regular programing when the station was showing 24 hour hurricane info the other week.

They ran a blurb on the bottom of the screen saying that the movie would be shown at 9:00.

18. Well, Channel 12 airs the 700 Club every AM
So tell me THEY aren't biased and fooled into thinking Jeebus talks with the General Manager?

They are all happy cheery whites ( a black woman tossed in for appearance' sake) that have that Southern Baptist "we are too clean for the truth" look about them. They aim to appease the elderly and aging Caucasion Baptist Chattanooga population.

I hate it, and I miss the world, too!!!!

9. wowk tv huntington-charleston wv, and i
just sent them this email:

thank you ever so much for deciding what i need to know and protecting me from what i don't need to know. i suppose i'll refer to you from now on as wv pravda. how dare you preempt 60 Minutes tonight? i lost patience with your giggling news anchors a long time ago so have quit watching your station for local news, but you have absolutely no right in a free (although rapidly becoming less so) country in not airing a news show we have the right to see.

you should be ashamed of yourselves.

11. Indianapolis, IN reporting in, our CBS affiliate here also preempted,
tonight showed an apprent rerun with Matthew Broderick and Gen. Boykin. Contact info:

WISH-TV Channel 8
317-923-8888
jwhite@wishtv.com (Station Mgr).

I am soooo pissed about this, besides ranting at our local affiliates and reporting it to CBS, can we contact the FCC about this? Anyone know anything about broadcasting and affiliates, do they have to show it?

17. Who owns WISH?
Lived in Indy for a couple of years back in the mid-90s. I remember the name Jeff Semolyan (spelling probably wrong) as being prominent in media circles with Ennis (or Emmis?) Broadcasting. Isn't he conservative? I think he was president or CEO or something of WIBC. Does Ennis also own WISH? Or is my memory just bad?

As for your question, I have always been under the impression that networks do not take kindly to affliates pre-empting prime-time shows without a very good reason. I would definitely let CBS know; not sure what the FCC can do unless it finds a pattern of many middle- to large-market stations pre-empting the same program.

12. It is good to keep the media on their toes, but bad to go off half cocked
Mrs. Knox was just scheduled TODAY. 60 minutes was supposed to be a bunch of rerun stories and many affiliates had long ago decided to preempt it. Look in the TV guide that came in last Sunday's paper.

Many affiliates, like my own in Orlando, put 60 minutes back on when the new story was added. If you are calling them up, you should THANK them!

14. www.WAFB.com.....Baton Rouge, La
They didn't show the first 60 Minutes II last week, which had the Barnes interview. They showed rerun of St. Jude Hospital show. When people phoned to complain, they were told there were "transmission problems."

Also tonight's 60 Minutes II was not shown. Instead, a rerun of the mayoral debate. Again, "transmission problems." Weather is not a factor either.

Can't find the contact info.

Please remember to let your satellite and cable companies know of your anger. You pay for that service, don't you? They can put pressure on the local channels that the CBS parent company can't.
