Bush memo and fraud
I think the republicans are making a HUGE mistake

They want a investigation for fraud or slander...or some stupid shit

The way I see it, they are playing right into our hands....

The investigation will have to focus on the content and not wether the document is legit

You cannot defraud or slander somebody with a sheet of paper, it would be with what is written on the paper...which turns out to be true

If the information is true...then a investigation will only prove this, who cares if the document is legit...if the content is legit

The republicans are about to open something they clearly don't want to open

2. There will be no investigation...
The announcement that they are calling for an investigation was all they wanted. It made the news, it focused attention on the possible fraud--and thus drew attention away from the Fraud who occupies the White House. So don't get all worked up--it's just a waste of energy.

4. Well....
What if the Democrats started demanding a investigation....and made the repukes look bad by avoiding one ?

It's their guy who was attacked after all, they SHOULD want the investigation

7. I agree that's all they wanted but the Democrats should ...
call their bluff just for laughs. Watch how fast the "outraged" GOP Senators would table the discussion if they did. The GOP blowhards have opened the door the Democrats should take advantage of it.

9. it would be a terrific idea.
Daschle could pull his "I'm deeply troubled" act and call for an investigation as well.

Keep it in the media longer!

3. An investigation would be worthless -
We can't pin our hopes on it. Long before it would be complete, Bushco would be reinstalled in office. The Watergate affair took over 2 years to be completed with the resignation of the crook. There are only 46 days left.

5. screw an investigation...while they IGNORE other investigations
investigate one thing - CONTENT

Then start investigating what Bob Graham said in his book...which is more important.

6. I think we should push for investigations of
every crummy illegal tactic they throw at us--
Let's face it the media is going to screw Kerry.. the legal route is all we really have .
Eventually someone will be caught-- right?
EventuallY... eventually....
crap.

8. Interesting call on C-Span this morning
While watching the first segment of C-span this morning a caller said that he thought Dan Rather was in on this forged document scandal. This started me thinking, I recall reading a book about the assassination of JFK several years ago. This book implied that Dan Rather a newsman in Texas at the time came to national prominence after covering up or not reporting details of the assassination at the time. This book also mentioned a "George Bush" of the CIA. Since I checked this book out from the library I do not recall the title, has anyone here read this book, if so what, what is the title.
