Republicans win!!
I just read about the 40 or so Republican congressman (are there any senators on that?) that have publicly called on CBS to repudiate the memo charges in very harsh terms. And while I was reading it, I was trying to think about the last time I saw any congressmen from my party band together to fight smears like this....

I'm getting pretty angry with our party right about now.

These repugs, they fight and they fight and fight and fight and it fucking works. They get press and they get results.

Our party is too concerned about manners and good behavior to do this, but the facts on the ground say that this is what works.

Americans love people who stick up for what they believe in and we also love fighters. I'm just so sick of the spineless-ness on our side.

6. Yes, you are right...BUT>>
what are the headlines today? all about the papers NOT the content of the papers - it's not about the truth - it's never about the truth, and the Democrats must wake up to that fact

Kerry must come out against the war and very soon - more and more internal reports are saying it's lost - and now we see * had a CIA report back in July telling him exactly that..but what does he do? We are winning....right, it's NEVER about the truth

Kerry must tell the truth - the war is lost and we must get the hell out

2. Kinda sickening, innit?
I'm finding it very hard to get excited about our side. They're either too disorganized or too delusional to get their shit together. Either way, not very confidence inducing...

10. That's what happened to me in 2000
We fell apart. The repubs beat Clinton over the head for so long that it seems like the Dems got shaken up. They didn't come together to fight the fight, they seemed to hide under their rocks for most of the campaign.

12. Sometimes the disillusion is just mind-boggling - I had an email
conversation with Michael O'Hanlon who frequently appears on the air representing "the left," from the Brookings Institution. SHIT. It was frustrating! I emailed him to offer a little advice based on the encounter I'd seen with him and an attack-dog woman from the "right." He spent about 2/3 of the segment AGREEING WITH HER!!! I questioned him on this, about the wisdom of it, and urged him NOT EVER to agree with these people - EVER EVER EVER!!! Because they were the enemy and we HAVE to keep hammering away that these people and what they think are essentially WRONG ABOUT EVERYTHING, just to hammer that point home - otherwise what difference will be apparent between the two parties? Know what his answer was? That he felt it WAS important to agree with the enemy sometimes, so that we showed we were into "cooperating" and working together. Kumbaya. SHIT. That does NOT work. Whoever's advising them on that is a complete KNUCKLEHEAD - AND a LOSER. Maybe it's a mole...

13. Perfect example
:(

I for one am sick of playing Mr. Rogers to their Atilla the Hun. And despite my greatest wish, which is for Asshat to be ousted, I fear come Nov. 3 a LOT of liberals are going to wake up with a nasty, nasty sugar hangover.

7. See, the repugs know the score...
When the swift boat liars were out there lying and lying, there were people like Max Cleland, INDIVIDUALS, going around saying "this is wrong" and challenging the president and the Swift boat liars.

Wrong move.

What we needed were people calling out the networks and saying how egregious this was for a NEWS NETWORK to be spreading lies. And we needed a concerted effort by Senate Democrats to do this.

We lose because we don't want it like the Repugs do. Repugs get voted out only because they overstretch themselves and people get so sick of them, they vote Dem. Dems come in, clean up the mess, then people vote them out.

8. You are so right. How long has it taken
for the word liar to cross Terry McCasulif's lips. First I heard was two days ago and is their a chorus? Are all dems repeating this everywhere? No, it's hidden in one little statement. Dont's they care about winning? The media is a part of the problem, the Dems are the other part. As a party they don't fight and all we have to do is tell the truth.

11. America loves fighters and people who consistently fight
so look what our party does...maybe Daschle says "well, blah blah mistake...blah blah honest mistake by the President blah blah work together.." and that gets picked up and we look like a party of spineless IDIOTS.

Our party leadership, maybe even our party is in severe disarray in regards to how they are treating the media and this administration.

I fear that they are so co-opted by special interest money and perhaps the Repug party that they cannot sustain a credible, long-term verbal assault on the Repugs.

I don't know, I'm just very very angry today.

14. "Spineless idiots" is spot-on.
I think the deep-down problem that I see MANY Dems and liberals and progressives voicing again and again is the attitude of "we've got to take the high road! If we get down in the gutter, and do what they do, then that makes us NO BETTER THAN THEM!!! The truth will out, YOU'LL SEE!!!"

Yeah. That and a dime will get you a parking meter for six minutes.

That's what Mary Beth Cahill and her ilk advised Kerry - that the swift boat swifties would blow over and everybody would just SEE and KNOW the TRUTH!!! And everything would be fine and dandy and hearts and flowers and we're the Good Guys and the good guys win. Don't they?

Well, this is real life, NOT the movies. People DON'T SEE THE TRUTH. ESPECIALLY when there IS this vast, horrific media machine in place, slanted to the wrong-wing, and cranking on overtime night and day. NOBODY'S gonna see the truth. It's like we send out the hamsters and they send the rottweilers.

Sometimes I just want to wring somebody's neck in the DNC. They HAVE fallen all over themselves to come up with another word than LIAR!!! And of course the media is already predisposed to give the bushies the benefit of the doubt, so this plays straight into their gameplan, too. PARTICULARLY if we are NOT offering them an alternative way to view, and to word things. They're not using LIAR!!! because not enough of OUR guys have been using LIAR!!!!!

And simply to assume that a little 86 year old secretary speaking frankly is gonna outshout that God-awful machinery is just folly. Yes, there ARE a few of clearer heads and reasoned minds who will consider that, but when the attack machine is turned up on SUPERHIGH, its roar is gonna drown her out for most. The MAJORITY, whom we have to reach, is NOT using its brainpower. Especially when it's so easy to be told EXACTLY what to think, in clear, no uncertain, no mamby-pamby bullshit terms, by the Bad Guys.

DAMN I wish we could CLONE Howard Dean in EVERY media market in the country.

16. The spin the media is helping the repukes put on the new team
is sickening... heard it this morning... 'ever since Clinton's people took over Kerry'... like they're pod people or something.

Think they're worried? I do.

15. Too many Democrats still listen to 'Conventional Wisdom'
It's sickening in the extreme... I recently heard an interview where a Dem was moaning and groaning about how every time they write an article that is controversial, that there are lots of angry, vitriolic emails... how they think he isn't being as hard hitting as he should be, and on and on and woesy woesy woe, people are so aaaangry.

I just want to shake these people ... don't they get it? Don't they see where we are?

Too many people are hiding from reality. Far, far, far too many.

17. These pundits and newspeople dont care..
They are out of the mainstream by virtue of their salaries..

And most of them, the ones that are constant Repuke apologists even though they are supposedly Dems, know that the only way to get onto cable TV and keep getting invited back is to appear to agree with Repuke talking points and pose as the Dem who "gets it" and sees that the Repukes are actually good for this country. UGH

They play a game and it's with OUR future. Convincing the rubes that this...ownership agenda...is actually good for them. When it's all too late, and everything comes crashing down and our economy looks like Brazil or Argentina.. then they'll blame Clinton. again

18. Repudiate only after the questions have been answered
Did Bush* refuse an order to take a required Flight Physical, and if so Why? Did he get suspended from flying for failing to take the required Physical. Those are the only really pertinent questions IMHO and I would like them answered. If they can answer those questions then the documents are meaningless whether they are real or not.
