Who the hell are Brazile & Coelho to talk??
Edited on Thu Sep-16-04 06:51 AM by YEM
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but didn't they run a loser campaign last time around? Why the hell should people listen to them? They have some real nerve.

5. There is an article in the NY times.
Tony has been vocal for a couple of weeks about it. I just heard about Brazile and her big mouth. What do they intend to accomplish here?

6. Well, we have sent mail to any number of people we
were alarmed over, why not send some to those two?

They are undermining the Democratic campaign if they are voicing "concerns" like that. The MUST BE ON THE PAYROLL someplace.
BLAST THEM BACK! Tell 'em to STFU or change parties!

3. My theory is ...
They are trying to insinuate that their campaign (Gore) wasn't as bad as people thought. But reality says it was.

4. I'll never forget when I first heard Brazile
in the nascent Gore campaign and thought to myself, "They're not gonna put HER out front are they? Nah, they certainly don't want to give away a guaranteed election."

Why would they do that?

7. This the way the make a living now
They pretty much have a reputation of loser advice but the rightwing leaning corporate media love when they have one Democrat slamming another.

9. If you knew what you were talking about
you'd know both these won the presidential campaign for Gore in 2000. That gives them a helluva lot of room to talk about whatever they want to talk about.

14. The proper question is "Who's in the White House?"
Not "whose". Now that we have the typical/classic bad grammar out of the way, are you saying Bush won the election in 2000?

Some people have a hard time not identifying theirselves.

10. You don't believe that Al Gore WON the Presidency in 2000, and
that * USURPED the Office? Of course, I may have misunderstood your intentions in starting this thread, and, if so, please accept my apology, and set me straight. Thank you :)

13. the networks deliberately choose poor spokesmen for the Dems
and once the commercial relationship is established, they don't want to have to look for new faces--takes time and money and it's risky. Not many people are really comfortable talking extemporaneously on television, or they can't project and on and on.

It's a crime, but that's why it's happening.

15. Tony Coelho has a rather checkered career....
Tony has a number of claims to fame -- a long-time board member at Service Corp. Int'l (SCI), the infamous mega funeral home that twice got caught doing bad stuff (FuneralGate), including throwing bodies in the woods instead of in graves in Florida. CEO of that company, Robert Waltrip, has been a big financial contributor to Bush.

Coelho, a Democrat, is also a trustee for the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation.

According to the Center for Public Integrity, Tony Coelho did not report a now-controversial $300,000 personal loan on a federal financial disclosure report that he signed on June 11, 1998. Coelho had also "over-achieved" as a congressman -- he was named one of the top check-bouncers of the House bank (Coelho made the Top 22 with almost $300,000 in hot checks).

He also figured out how to live large on the taxpayer buck in Portugal.

VEEP Al Gore's latest headache is a State Department inspector general's report about Gore 2000 campaign chairman Tony Coelho's "questionable payments" as head of last year's U.S. pavilion at the World Exposition in Portugal.

Coelho received no salary during the post, but it had its perks. He stayed in an $18,000-a-month apartment in Portugal, flew first class, and arranged to get free first-class tickets for his wife. Coelho's niece got a job too. As an assistant, she earned $2,500 per month, $900 more than the office manager, according to the Washington Post. <more>

16. Yeah, where is the toe-sucker anyway?
They haven't trotted him out yet.
What a load of crap they are spewing.

Coelho got canned for corruption.
I wouldn't listen to him if he told me the sun
was coming up in the morning.
