Just curious. I saw one on Lake Superior once-it may have slipped into the Marquette, MI. U.S. Coast Guard station circa 1987.

2. The Navy once had a Great Lakes fleet
consisting of a destroyer escort and three minesweepers. They were used for training. Maybe they have a sub training program on the Great Lakes now.

out on Isle Road.

Yep, a lot of folks have talked about subs in the Great Lakes, might be training indeed.

There used to be a SAC base nearby, K.I. Sawyer. B-52's with nuclear weapons onboard flying 24/7 and returning home. I visited there. It closed.

12. I remember in the 80's when UFO sightings were extremely
commonplace. Students at UWS had all seen them along the lake & were surprised that I didn't know about them.

13. Yep, that's when a lot of people were seeing things entering and exiting
the water from/into the air in the Great Lakes.
The submarines I can understand.

6. Anyone else remember "The New Avengers," set in Canada?
One episode featured a Soviet sub implausibly stationed off the shore of Toronto.

I know there are subs in the Great Lakes, MB. I saw one in Marquette offshore, and one partially submerged near the U.S. Coast Guard station there in 1987.

10. Commercial vessel crews have talked about submarines and UFO
interactions, but they were drinking.

OTOH, there are several cases of missing US military and commercial aircraft involving Great Lakes UFO activity over the decades.

There have long been reports of things entering and exiting the Great Lakes from the atmosphere-I would love to see that for myself, it would be a first.

Satellite retrievals were common during the Cold War. Maybe subs were part of that too.

Lots of concrete reasons for submarines in the Great Lakes.

11. It isn't like Clark Gable shouting "Dive! Dive!" out on the Great Lakes
it's spooky and stealthy.
