I think it's important to keep expressing our support for Dan Rather. If he ends up on the short end of this stick, I truly fear for our democracy.

Regina , Thank you for your reply. I stand behind Dan Rather as I believe he is one of the few journalists willing to take risks and ask tough questions. I hope CBS also stands behind Dan Rather. If CBS does not give their full support to Dan Rather, then I believe we will have lost the "war" on one of basic rights - Free Press.

Dear Dr. Thank you for taking the time to write. Your point of view is important to us. As you can imagine, the story did take courage to present, and it's unfortunate that the documents have become the center of the story rather than the substance of the story itself; however, we do regret that their authenticity was accepted so readily. Your support is greatly appreciated. Rest assured, we will continue to pursue the highest level of journalistic integrity, the apology stands, and we will pursue future stories with the most rigorous of research.

My admiration for Dan Rather only got higher tonight. He is the only one who appears brave enough to ask the tough questions of Bush and his out of control administration. The only hope for this country is a FREE PRESS!
Dan Rather is a committed and ethical journalist. Don't forget that!
