What bugs you more, the lies that President Bush and his surrogates told about the
rationale behind the war in Iraq, or the lies that President Bush and his surrogates told about the
cost of Iraq War?
I can see both sides of it; if they had admitted what they really wanted to do (assuming you don't believe that the only reason they wanted to invade Iraq was to get their hands on oil) we could have had a real debate on whether or not Iraq was a good idea, instead of the phony debate.
Hiding the costs of the war, on the other hand, seems more ignoble to me. Almost petty. You are sending us into Iraq on the cheap to protect a tax cut?
I don't know, what do you think? And although this isn't the campaign forum, it's worth considering also what answer should President Kerry speak to?
One of the Republican talking points forever has been, yeah the Democrats may be idealists, but we know how to get things done. Well, even if you support the idea of invading Iraq (and I don't, at least not under these circumstances) they certainly haven't done a very good job of it.
