All polls affected by the media
Edited on Mon Sep-13-04 12:26 PM by higher class
All polls conducted by corporate consortiums (ex: NBC-Newsweek plus some aspects of Microsoft) affect the polls by bias of polling procedures - phrasing, choice of questions, geography, time of day, etc. BUT BUT...

what is not talked about here is the distortion of poll results that they CAUSE by their business practices in their business model.

They take polls, they report on the polls, they even extoll the results of the polls in a partisan way - but what runs below the surface is that they manipulated the polls. Everything they do or don't do while reporting and commenting on news causes an X factor that is slanted against Democrats.

If they carry every minute of a Bush speech and have a single person or a panel join in a chorus of alleluias, but cut away from Kerrys speeches with or without negative comment, if they allow talking head hosts on their own shows to hype the right wing, if their talking head hosts make guest appearances on other shows and hype the right wing, if they put positive inflection on Bush and negative inflection on Kerry, if they praise Bush through his most agregious gaffs or proclamations and laugh at or make stupid jokes or snide remarks about Kerry...if they excel in executing the right wing talking points of the day - they are affecting their very own polls by an X factor.

This is un-legisltated criminal terror against citizens and residents.
Whose air space is it, anyway?

Their abuse of trust parallels poll results of their so-called competing consortiums (who don't really compete with them at all since they are all right wing).

Democrats and ABB'ers should totally ignore right wing consortium polls and/or do something about it by writing to let someone know what you think about their un-American standards, ethics, and ommissions of responsibility.

1. I agree - and I fear that if Kerry does not win, the media will be the
focus of a 1968 type backlash where some will want blood.
