LA Times: Paul Crouch (Bush* theocrat) tries to silence boyfriend
http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-lonnie12sep12,1,343787.story?coll=la-home-local

Televangelist Paul Crouch, founder of the world's largest Christian broadcasting network, has waged a fierce legal battle to prevent a former employee from publicizing allegations that he and Crouch had a sexual encounter eight years ago.

Crouch, 70, is the president of Trinity Broadcasting Network, based in Orange County, whose Christian programming reaches millions of viewers around the world via satellite, cable and broadcast stations.

Who is Paul Crouch?

Mr. Wead, who had been religion liaison in the Bush administration from 1989 to 1993, also introduced what he called "seven of the top 10 television evangelists in America today." They included Paul Crouch, founder of the Trinity Broadcasting Network, and Kenneth Copeland, both of whom made brief remarks. "We are here, in a larger sense, to honor an office, an office God has used to bless our nation and virtually every nation on Earth," said Mr. Crouch, speaking of the presidency.

1. TBN........................
I love to watch those people in their $5000 suits, gold Rolex's, hair reaching up to the heavens.....what a joke. They prey upon the lonely and the stupid and laugh all the way to he bank. These are the people that give religion a bad name.

9. This is the network with the Lavender Haired Lady
She puts Tammy Faye all to shame with her makeup and her histrionics, which cause said make-up to flow down her face in torrents of black. She once said something "makes Baby Jesus cry." So now when I see something rotten, I too say it makes Baby Jesus cry. If not for the money she and her husband fleece from poor people who want only to do something good with their money, she would be a friggin laugh riot. Actually I think the Crouches at TBN used to be mixed up with the Bakkers. And they were all mixed up with the AG church and Springfield MO, my old home town.

12. That's Paul's unfortunate wife, Jan...
She looks and acts like Moon Maiden, from the Dick Tracy comics.

Paul Crouch likes guys?!? Wow...this is intriguing.

8. Har!

I have a friend, and his dad will say "Yup, no money in religion" every time he passes a big church.

4. Yeesh!
The ones that act the holiest usually end up being the biggest hypocrites.

Obviously, Paul Crouch didn't pray hard enough or give God enough money or else this whole mess would've never seen the light of day./sarcasm

Where's Reverand Shambauch when you need him!!

5. Another Elmer Gantry caught with his pants down.
They're always good for a laugh - in a disgusting sort of way. Whenever I see them on TV, I'm struck with amazement that there are millions of people who are so incredibly stupid as to actually send them money.

But, between the outfits and the hair, and the TrailerPark-Roccoco sets that make Jesus on Velvet look like high art, they do provide some hilarity for those with an IQ above that of boiled turnips.

They're to religion what Twinkies are to nutrition.

6. I read this too...
I guess the "mainstream" media will completely ignore it (except the L.A. Times where I first read about it). This guy and his counterpart - a total nutcase named Jan with purple hair who cries all the time is on all over in Southern Cal. GOD I hope this has some legs! I actually thought it'd be all over DU today but I guess not enough people in other parts of the country know about this freak.

7. Sooner or later, the karmic debt these guys rack up always comes due...
How many of these TV-much-holier-than-thou types have been pinched in some type of sex or $$$ charge?

These particular people have always taken advantage of the elderly and the housebound, asking them to "write to us, and don't forget to tuck that little love-gift into the envelope."
