Arnold gets away with it. and women are still abused no
matter what part of the world you are in. The Gropenator's accuser drops the defamation suit.

Los Angeles — A woman who accused Arnold Schwarzenegger of groping her has dropped her defamation case against the California governor and a campaign aide to avoid paying $100,000 or more in legal fees.

Rhonda Miller wanted to appeal a judge's dismissal of her case. But her lawyer, Paul Hoffman, said Thursday that she settled for a guarantee from Mr. Schwarzenegger that she will not have to pay the governor's legal costs.

A day before last year's recall election, pitting Mr. Schwarzenegger against then-governor Gray Davis, Ms. Miller, a former stuntwoman, publicly alleged that Mr. Schwarzenegger groped her on movie sets while he filmed Terminator 2 and True Lies.

I actually read about this in the Los Angeles Times, which was more detailed in the sexual harrassment that took place. I didn't post because you have to register, but it's in 9/11/04's edition if you want to hit the website. It stated that Arnold had at one time pulled her breast out of her bra and sucked on her nipple. Gives me the creeps thinking about it.

Earlier in the day I was watching CNN Int'l about Thai prositutes who are barely living above starvation. One girl was offered three times the money by a john. She was suspicious about it and confided that to a friend but went anyway because she needed the money. She was subsequently beaten and gang raped by seventeen men. She died a week later from her wounds because she couldn't afford the medical care she needed. Nice huh.

This is the world that Arnold and BushCo want to bring to us. Women as sex objects with no control over their bodies and whom they allow to touch it and no health care for anyone who is underpaid and can't afford it.

1. This is too bad.
I sure wish the British woman he groped on camera will come forward.

I wish Larry Flynt would get in on this, I bet if Arnold runs for pres. he will get ahold of the clip, I hope so.

2. I get very upset with the trend against women
from the Bush Administration.

I get angry with women most of all, particularly when I read how gung ho they are for these cowboy acting men who have adopted machismo personalities.

The present administration has set the gains women have made back 20, 30 or more years. And if elected, it will be much worse.
It is pathetic, the mindset of women who feel and believe this president will protect them against terrorists when they need protection first, for themselves and for their children.

3. Naomi Wolf does a great rant in "The Beauty Myth"
on advertising lingo for women's products; safety, support, strength, and protection, etc, etc, are very common tag-words, she constrasts this with rape and battery statistics, so this may be more machiavellian on Rove's part than it even appears.

4. Aren't there any attorneys
who would take on a case like this pro bono or contingent on winning? (Or however you say it - there are lawyers in my family so you'd think I'd have learned the lingo by now, duh.) Does the ACLU handle cases like this? It doesn't seem right to have to drop a case, especially a case of this nature, because you can't pay the legal fees.

5. sad...
....every woman is some mans' mother, sister, daughter, aunt, niece, etc....

I think if men had to go through daily life looking over their shoulder for the next groper/rapist or watch that every word they say isn't being sexually misunderstood or arousing, maybe we'd have a greater appreciation for the bullshit women go through everyday and maybe, just maybe, some of us would treat women with more respect....

7. Most guys do treat women with respect.
But guys like Arnold, who have achieved some wealth and power know they can use their power against women because they know women really can't fight back at them with the way the laws are today and the fact that their whole sex life is going to be dragged out in public not to mention the cost in money.

The victim is almost always blamed here. I know when I was a young secretary and had to put up with this shit from mostly older and married men, my complaints were treated as whining. Maybe I didn't dress appropriately, "inviting" guys to be guys, or I should be old enough to know how to "handle" the situation. Blech!

8. I have always wondered how women were suppose to
"handle" it. Did they mean reach for a knife ala Lorena Bobbitt?

9. money usually gets it's way....
....in this society of double, triple and quadruple standards....

Being one of four brothers and having two daughters, I've seen in my daughters, as they were growing up, this greater female need to be aware of your surroundings and what YOU and your APPEARANCE may be doing to others/males around you....no verbal, eye or physical contact, just appearance.....

....as a male, I just didn't experience that.....as a male, if I had, I would have definately considered that to be first-class bullshit....
