Putting an end to the Superscript Forgery Nonsense ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_Selectric_typewriter

As you can clearly see, the IBM Selectric II, released a few years after the 1961 Selectric I, DID have Superscript!!! I believe this is a wrap on the question of whether typewriters could produce Superscipt in the 70's! Hell they could do it in the 60's!!!!

So that's ONE talking point shot down in flames..now onto another one...be back later!

7. Yeah, I checked it out
I used to use those kinds of typewriters. I KNOW they can do superscript.

3. Absolutely right.
In 1971 thru 1973 I did my Naval Reserve drills weekly in the Reserve Center in Bloomington, Indiana. We had the IBM Selectrics with all these capabilities and more. Sounds like more GOP desperation to me. In other words, they are friggin' lying again.

5. Superscript is not the issue
The "rd", "nd", "th" and "st" superscripts were produced by a single keystroke, not by moving the platen around. They were similar to the "1/4" key found on many older typewriters.

8. I used a Selectric II when I was in the USAF in 1968, it did indeed have
the ability (you had to switch the flipballs) to do super and subscripts. I bought one for myself when I got out but didn't buy the
optional balls but they were available. I know this for a fact.
